Busy morning in the RedRum office with 6 boats going out this morning. Everyone has been hearing about the crazy Marlin bite of the last week and half and are wanting to capitalize on it. Had a few folks walk in yesterday afternoon proclaiming they had to get out on the water today. That's the spirit, and those folks always seem to catch the most fish. First to return was Ron McCallum who went out with Rafa. Ron had a flight at two to catch, but got skunked earlier in the week with another company. We got him on 2 Marlin and 2 Dorado by 11am and sent him on his way to the airport. Success story number 1.
Texans, (but unfortunately Aggies,)Chris and Greg took their crew out on El Nuevo RedRum. Alex and Cesar headed for the 73 degree water of the Golden Gate and put the Cabo first timers on 7 catch and release Marlin and had them back to the docks by 1pm. Great day guys, see you tomorrow.
Phil, Jessica and Alex headed out on ReelRum with Omar, who I believe may have sold his soul to the devil. He is out of control hot the last few months. He caught and released another 8 Marlin today, rather Phil, Jessica, and Alex caugt 8 with Omar and Americo's help. He said the bait was everywhere and the action was crazy.

Update....
Joe Torolski was nice enough to send in an update to his March 3rd trip. I had to leave the office early that day.
Just a note on your March 3 fishing report. We fished with Alex and Ramon and hooked nine marlin and also caught a Dorado. I think we brought five to the boat for pictures. I will send pictures from both fishing trips when I get to my other computer.

We went out on Rum Runnin' with Javier and Lupe as our guides and I can't say a negative thing about them. They were friendly and informative and very funny on top of everything else. We caught 3 marlin and 2 Dorado during the course of the day and your guys couldn't have made it any easier for us. Our trip was made even better when the owners wife personally took our catch to a fantastic local restaurant called Misiones de Kino, where they prepared us the best meal we had during our entire stay in Mexico. We even saw the Redrum owners who stayed to eat there after dropping off our fish. You can tell that they are living the dream fishing for a living, living in an exotic location and it shows in the way they treat their customers. They made one of my dreams come true and I would and did recommend you guys to anyone that wants to go fishing in Cabo. You were a first class operation from start to finish and I just wanted to thank you for making my trip to Cabo one I will never forget. Keep up the good work.

Happy Customers are always great!
Timothy Dillon and Wally Green are two buddies down here on vacation and they happened to run into some folks who had fished with us at their resort. The guys said that after talking with the previous clients they decided that they had to get out there and give it a shot, and definitely with RedRum. They were lucky enough to get Omar and Americo who couldn't have a hotter hand at the moment. The guys had a ball out there and caught and release 7 Striped Marlin. I know this is becoming commonplace the last few weeks, but it is truly amazing what is happening on the water here in Cabo right now.
Brian and Kathy Dietrich are vacationing here in Cabo, down from cold cold Canada. They also heard about us from some previous clients and they also wanted to get out on the water and give it a shot. Thanks to Linn who fished with us last week and sold the Dietrichs on RedRum. They went out with Javier and Manuel and were able to bring in 3 Striped Marlin, missing a few others.
Finally, the Monalto boys from Jersey just couldn't see themselves hanging by the pool all day in their last full day in Cabo. They called late last night and decided they needed one more day on the water. I thought for sure that the guys had had enough Marlin and were ready to try to chase some Tuna around. I was wrong, they came back with several more Marlin flags flying today.
As is the norm with RedRum, every Marlin caught today was released back into the water.

Looking for Tuna?
The Monalto crew from Jersey was and low and behold they caught Marlin. Omar had heard of a school of Tuna about 7 miles north of Golden Gate and the guys were interested in heading up there. After looking for a while and not seeing any Tuna they decided to head back to Golden Gate. The Gate was boiling again today and the guys were able to bring in 10 Marlin. Unbelievable day on the water fellas. Search for Tuna will have to wait another day.

Stop the press, we caught a Dorado today!
Paul Kollmar has been looking forward to this trip for a while. All his buddies went out and got banged up last night and didn't want to get their lazy butts up this morning. So what's a guy to do? Come fishing by yourself. Paul had a great day catching and releasing 3 Marlin and even finding a Dorado for dinner. Thanks for coming out today Paul.
The Johnson crew from Alaska fished with Alex on El Nuevo today and had a great day as well, hooking 9 or 10 Marlin and bringing 6 to the boat for photos and releases. Thanks guys, stay warm in Alaska and come back to see us.
Finally we had the Monalto guys from New Jersey, delayed a day because of bad weather, these guys just got in yesterday and went out for their first day on the water today. While the weather gods were not smiling two days ago for these guys, the fish gods were today. 8 catch and release Marlin, a Mako shark and a Dorado.

Sorry folks, power was down for a few hours here at the office yesterday.
That was the reason for the lack of fish report. Quick recap of yesterday, Leever party was on Rum Runnin, two young men and there grandfather I believe. Mom/Daughter was nice enough to pick up the tab for the fellas and send them out on the water for a day of fishing. The guys got lucky and were able to catch and relase 4 Marlin. Ramon on El Nuevo had similar success with the Meier party. Rudy, Judy and Rudy Jr were able to bring in 5 catch and release Marlin. I think the boys on the boat said they were the clients that had the easiest names to remember of any of our previous clients. If you say either with a thick enough spanish accent they sound the same. Pleasure meeting and fishing with you guys, hope to see the Meiers down here again real soon.
Today sounds like it is UNREAL at the Gate. Either that or Omar and Americo were en fuego! They got back around 1pm and had 10 catch and release Marlin. Ryan takes a break from the office and heads to Golden Gate!
With the craziness of the last few days on the water, I wanted to run up to Golden Gate and try to get some footage to put here on the fish report. We can talk about the bait balls and pods of Marlin chasing them until the sun goes down, but I thought it would be cool to show you. Of course when I have the camera the fish don't cooperate. No great footage, but no worries. The fish are still there and still going crazy, just not super bunched up at the moment; which made filming a little more difficult. The good news for you guys, the catching was no more difficult. We planned the trip last minute, and my guests (Marshall and Leon,) were late. Oh well, we still got 4 Marlin in a few hours of fishing time. We abandonded Golden Gate for the shoreline looking for a nice Dorado for dinner and we still got hooked up with a Marlin. I know, I know, tough problem to have. I understand I am getting no sympathy from anyone who shoveled snow this morning.
The other two boats that went out with us did great today as well. John Herzog, his buddy and his wife headed out on El Nuevo RedRum with Alex and they also caught and released 4 Marlin. They left the office hoping that next weeks trip they have with us will be as productive. Cross your fingers and pray to the fish gods!
The Latendresse's were out on ReelRum today and they too had a great day on the Golden Gate. Conditions were beautiful all morning with a slight NorthEast breeze in the early afternoon. They were able to catch and release 4 Marlin as well.
Overall, another great day on the water in Cabo San Lucas. I love this place!s
