Today we had the return of the Rutherford's. The Rutherford and Dickey clans were back at it today, minus a few of the young grandchildren who opted to stay home with Grandma Sandra. I love fishing as much as the next guy, but I can't blame these little munchkins. If Sandra was my grandma, I would have no problem skipping a day on the water to hang out with her by the pool. What a wonderfully sweet woman.
That being said, most of the clan wanted to head out in search of some Tuna. Of the 3 boats, 2 made a long run up towards the Golden Gate Bank, came back towards the Jaime Bank and finally fished the Lighthouse Bank as well. After spotting 3 different schools of Porpoise, the Captains and Clans decided Tuna weren't in the cards and tried their luck with some Marlin. 1 Marlin was brought in. Grandpa Johnny was the smart one today, was their ever any doubt, as he and his boat decided to fish the Sea of Cortez where they got two random Tuna hook-ups and 2 catch and release Marlin. True to form, Grandpa was the provider today, bringing home some real nice filets from the 2 Yellowfin he caught. Can't wait to see you guys back down here in the fall! oh, and give Sandra a big hug for me in case I don't get to see her before I leave.
Karloff Talorda and Margharita, his lovely wife, joined us today for their first time offshore fishing. Celebrating their 1st anniversary, they were really excited to get out on the water. So excited, in fact, that they were here before 5am, not sure of how long it would take to get to the Marina. Unfortunately, they spent more time waiting for their charter this morning than they did on the water. They weren't feeling too well and hour into the trip and came back around 8am. Next time maybe try some of that amazing sea-sickness medicine, Scopace.

Monday's Marlin Report
Today was Marlin, Marlin and more Marlin. The Stripers decided to wake up today with everyboat catching at least one fish. The Marlin have not been all that hungry recently, so it was nice to see them liven up a bit and start to take some of the live bait we threw their way.
Dick Belch, Alan Golebiewski, his brother Rick Golebiewski and John Powell joined the guys on ReelRum today and they were able to get one nice Marlin to the boat for some pictures. These guys are headed back out on Thursday to see if we can get a few more fish to the boat.
Had a chance to meet Scott Gorczyca and his lovely new bride today and they are awesome people. Someone wasn't thrilled about getting up at 5:30am, not naming names, but she was a trooper and ended up having a great day on the water. Scott came in to tell me how impressed he was with both crews he fished with this week, and even though the fishing was tough, he said the guys busted their butts. Music to my ears! The Gorczyca's landed a nice 6 foot Mako shark today, which they shared graciously with the crew, the rest we vacuum sealed for them to take back and share with their friends in Arizona. Hope to see you guys back down here soon!
Judy Knight and Steve Stivaly fished with us last year and they had such a good time they came back again this year, all the way from New Jersey. Today they fished with Ramon and Juan from TantRum and they caught and released a nice Marlin and also landed a Dorado. Hope to see you again next year guys!
Russell Landry and his boys Adam and Jarryd were down for a Father/Son fishing trip and they stumbled upon RedRum Sportfishing. Russell said he was tired of being pitched bait from every coyote on the Marina and was happy with our "all inclusive" pricing and up front information. The Landry's had a great day on the water catching and releasing 2 Striped Marlin. The Landry's loved their crew, and said they would definitely be back.
Finally, we had the Rutherford/Dickey crew. Too many names to mention, but basically it we had a couple John's, a few Tracie's, and a plethora of Sandra's grandkids. Sandra and Johnny stayed with us on a Play and Stay last year and may even be back for another this year, but this time around they needed a private home for the massive family reunion/fathers day trip they took. How cool is it when a whole extended family can come down together and fish for a few days. The families split up on three different boats and everyone got into the Marlin. They'll be back at it tomorrow, for round two, in search of some Tuna nonetheless for dinner.

Sunday Sportfishing
Sunday was a beautiful day in Cabo and when El Nuevo got back in the afternoon, it looked like things had really picked up out on the water. Water temps were in the low 70's on the Pacific and in the high 70's on the Sea of Cortez.
We had two boats out today, Larry and Garry Bartgis on TantRum and Doug Drennan's crew on El Nuevo RedRum.
Larry and Garry were looking for action of any type, but were interested in starting the day off with some Rooster fishing. Ramon and Juan were their Captain and Mate for the day and they got into the Roosters early. After hooking a nice 25lb Rooster right off the bat, they had a hard time getting any more fish to bite. Larry and Garry thought, as most anglers would, that they were set for a great day on the water with such an early hook-up. Unfortunately, the Roosters didn't cooperate and neither did the Marlin, Tuna, and Dorado the rest of the day.
Douglas Drennan and his guys from Louisiana, enjoying one of our Stay and Play Packages, had their second day on the water today and they had an awesome day. The guys got into the fish early and often and everyone got some time on the rod and reel. They finished the day with 2 catch and release Marlin, 2 Dorado, and 4 Yellowfin Tuna. They headed over to Solomon's Landing to get the fish cooked into an amazing dinner.

Welcome Baja Brigade: Adam, Adan & Jonathan
Hi guys!
an early Happy Father's Day to all those dad's out there! I hope you all have an awesome day tomorrow with your loved ones!
Yesterday was a great day here in Cabo, nice hot weather, abundand sunshine, winds were good and the waves were just perfect!
We had 4 boats out yesterday all with awesome people who came fishing from different parts of the States. We had folks from Louisiana, Kentucky, Florida...basically all around! and they all did very good out there!
From CCA Louisiana we had Douglas Drennan along with his pals taking our 33' Nuevo for their first fishing trip out by the Sea Of Cortez where they spotted several fish and reeled in 1 Marlin that our crew said as about 120-130 Lbs. These gentlement will be staying at the Portofino Condos and will be fishing again tomorrow. Maybe they'll reel in even more fish, right?
Scott Gorczyca, Steve, Derrekk and Mr. Williams fished with Captain Omar and Mate Americo on the 32' RumRunnin. Unfortunately one of their members did not make it to their first fishing trip but I am sure he will be included in the second round on Monday. These guys had to walk a lot to get to our office as they were dropped of in another point all the way around the Marina...many of you might remember the Main Dock??? some of you have also walked this road a few times LOL!
During their full day of fishing and after a very awesome day out in Baja Waters, they reeled in a 250 Lbs Marlin...and yes...Scott was tired! it took a while before Mr. Marlin decided to give in.
Let's see how they do on Monday!
GOOOOOOOOOOOO FROGS!!!!!!!! TCU member Matt Voegler came fishing with his crew for a 1/2 day aboard Fish Tails. They were excited about going out on this trip with RedRum and by the end of their 5 hour trip they had a 125 Striped Marlin...SUPER COOL!!! go frogs!
Last but not least we had a shared boat with Mark and Russell Hoppes and Nova and James Connor. These guys wen't out on our 28' Tantrum along with Captain Ramon and Mate Juan. The Hoppes and Connor, together, reeled in a 120 Lbs Marlin. Very good day out there huh?
We striked Marlines yesterday on all our boats! guess that was on the menu! will see how our boats do today.
On RumRunnin we our first group of wounded soldiers from The Baja Brigade program. Adan Garcia, Jonathan Gean and Adam Maloney arrived on June 16th at the San Jose International Airport where Ryan and John Donovan were waiting outside the gate to greet and meet these heroes. They were later taken to the Portofino Condo where they will be staying for the next couple of weeks.
We are very exicted about the Baja Brigade Program and we are really looking forward to doing this again in the future.
The Baja Brigade Program provides wounded veterans and their families with an all expenses paid adventure to Cabo San Lucas Mexico. Attendes will fly to Cabo and stay in a private ocean view condo for four nights while enjoying two days of offshore fishing with RedRum Sportfishing.
This very first group to come to Cabo has been having a wonderful time and John, Ryan and Brooke have entertained the guys a lot!
Today John and Ryan are out fishing with our new friends and we will let you know how they did out there!!!

Not too much to report
Hi Guys,
Today we had a calm day in Cabo. There are a lot of Marlin spotted out there but they are not all biting. We had 2 boats out today but only one of them caught fish.
This day's trip includes a father/son trip "starring" Steve Glass and son Cameron. They went out fishing for a full day with Captain Javier and mate Americo. They fished 30 min away from the Marina out by "Cerro Blanco" aka White Hill. The Marlin was reeled in by Cameron who is around the age of 13 yrs reeled in his first Striped Marlin that weighed 180 Lbs.

four winds
Hey y'all! Hope you're enjoying the weekend wherever you are!
Us here in Cabo could be doing a bit better you know, although we have been catching fish we certainly could be catching more...Does anybody know how we could get rid of the amazingly strong winds??? is there like anything we can do?????
These last couple of days we've been getting hit by very strong winds. It starts out really nice in the morning and you think "Oh cool, today will be an awesome day" little do we know mother nature has other plans in mind!
Once the clock strikes 11:30, better hold on to your hats cause the ride get rough. Waves have been between 5 and 6 ft high and the speed of the winds has been increasing every day reaching up to 24 mph...I know this sounds like nothing but believe me...out there it DOES have an impact.
Our RedRum Sign has already suffered consecuences because of this, it has been falling over and over causing some of the picture frames to break this means that you will be seeing me fixing it up every day and end up just bringing it back inside cause if I kept trying to fix it, I wouldn't be able to get some boats out in the water!!!! =)
No seasickness has been reported these couple of days so we are cool on that side and it makes no difference if we try the Pacific or Sea of Cortez side...winds will catch up!

On Tantrum for a second day of fishing we had a double father/double son fishing trip. David Kaiser and David Spalinger decided to bring their kids Tyler Spalinger and Zachary Kaiser to Cabo for a graduation fishing trip...how awesome!!!!
Their total number of fish for both days was 1 Marlin and 5 yellowfin Tuna... Don't ask me where because the guys were all over the place looking for fish, so there really isn't an exact hot spot for me to mention.
For their last and second day trip, members of CCA Travis Roy and his crew hopped on Nuevo for their last fishing trip of this month. Their catch on the first day was 1 Tuna and 1 Wahoo while yesterday they only caught 2 Tuna...Not bad, but it could've been better...You know who I blame! I mentioned "it's" speed several times in the lines above.
From the state of Texas we had Clint Dean and his party of 3 fishing aboard RumRunnin with Captain Javier and Mate Americo and after a long day of being outhere and almost a bit bummed out becuase no fish was spotted anywhere did reel in 1 hammerhead.
On their second day fishing but with less crew members we had Cody Walker and the guys fishing on ReelRum. They did great on Thursday but Saturday was not so good to them. They managed to reel in 2 Hammerheads. not bad guys!
So you see, we have been catching fish just not the quantity you'd expect. I have been checking the weather forcast and it seems this upcoming week will get better, stay tunned for more!

Here we are!
Hey guys!
Have been a bit unable to update the fish report so I will try to do it as briefly as possible for the last couple of days.
Fishing has been good, we've been striking Marlin, Dorado, Tuna and a Hammerhead this week. Winds have been rough, yesterday's weather was just awkward, it was very cold! not normal weather for Cabo San Lucas, but we woke up to a heavy Marine Layer and the winds were just freezing everybody...we sold almost all of our sweatshirts!
But anyhow, today it seems to be a bit nicer, we still have winds, not as strong as yesterday though, and not as cold either!
On June 9th we had 4 boats out.
On Rum Runnin we had Cody Walker and his buds fishing for the first time with RedRum, they were out with Captain Javier and Mate Americo. They hit 1 Marlin and 3 Yellowfin Tuna out by the Arch.
On RedBeam Captain Cesar and Mate Ramon had the pleasure to have Richard, Robert and Bill sharing the boat. These guys came back with 3 Marlin and a Dorado! They all got to catch and release a Marlin, so awesome!!
On Nuevo we had Craig Christiansen who after a full day of fishing, came back with 12 yellowfin tuna. He went fishing with Captain Alex and Mate Manuel. Great job guys!
On Tantrum David Jenkins and his friend decided to reel in 9 Yellowfin Tuna and 1 Marlin!
So as you can see Marlin was in the house!

On Tantrum we had Brett and Lisa Faucett from Dallas, TX fishing with Captain Ramon and Mate Omar. These guys reeled in 4 yellowfin tuna. Brought it back to get it seeled and frozen up! They had a great time.
Rick Barnhart and his party of 12 went out on RedBeam and RumRunnin. They had an awesome time out there and they both caught fish!
On RedBeam the guys did teamwork in reeling in a 10Ft 180 Lbs Striped Marlin plus a 7 Lb Yellowfin tuna!!! Awesome job!
On RumRunnin a 200 Lb Marlin was also caught but it snatched the line before it was able to make it all the way in....darn! they also caught a Tuna and a Hammerhead! first one of the month. Nicely done!
And last but not least was Steve & Debra Kman fishing on ReelRum, after their full day of fishing, they came back with a Tuna. Not bad either, the good thing is you guys enjoy your trip, right!!!
