August 1st Fish Report

Marc Brundige and the Linear Architecture Group from all over the nation had a great day fishing with the Redrum fleet.

Alex and Juan led the pack helping out 1/4 of the LAG with 3 Catch and Release Sailfish and a nice Bull Dorado as well. Omar lead another 1/4 of the group to a catch and release a Stripe Marlin on Reel Rum. The fish fought so hard at one point Omar thought it might have been a small Blue Marlin! Cesar headed out and spotted several Sails on top of the water but for some reason he could not get them to bite. He was fortunate enough to catch a large Bull Dorado with his group. Rum Runnin also landed a nice Sailfish.

Mr. and Mrs. Noone from McAllen, TX came in and fished a half-day with Mickey and Tili on Red Beam. I had told them they had a better chance of catching Billfish if they went out on a full day. They were confident that they would do alright, and they did just fine. Before their 5 hour trip was up they had caught and released 2 very nice Sailfish. Great job guys!! Good seeing you again.

As you can see we are catching and releasing multiple Sailfish in the area. With the water as warm as it is, the Sailfish come in and feed. It is a short Sailfish season but we are always very excited when we get them down here. They are such a beautiful fish to watch.

Tight Lines!!

End of July Report

The second half of July was a solid one for Redrum and their anglers. We were fortunate enough to see some warm water come in close as it gave the crews a chance to make a little bit longer of a run but still able to get to the fish.

Marlin and Dorado were pretty consistant on the Sea or Cortez side, one day Cesar ran almost to Los Barriles to find fish. When you're that determined you're bound to do alright. August looks like a lot busier months for Redrum and their boats, we are excited about the "busy" season as all the boats are in tip-top shape and ready for the big fish!!

Fishing is in the Blood!

Redrum owners and father-son duo John and Ryan Donovan aren't the only ones with fishing in their blood! John's brother Jim recently caught an 85 pound Blue Fin Tuna fishing out of Cape Cod, MA. and had to send us pictures!

Great job Jim!

July 9th Fish Report

Ramon and Juan had a great day today. The Perez family from California were able to catch and release 4 Stripe Marlin on their full day out on El Nuevo. Juan did a great job getting Mr. Perez on the first fish as he had to pitch 3 baits at it to get it to finally bite. Great job guys.

Cesar and Juan caught and released a Stripe Marlin as well with Frank Breard. He ended his 2 day fishing trip with a total of 2 Catch and Release Marlin and a Dorado that was close to 55 pounds! Not a bad couple of days.

Tim D'Amico recovered from the 24 hour Cabo bug that stuck him 2 nights ago and was able to get on ReelRum this morning to catch and realse a Monster Stripe Marlin. Omar said it was probably 111" inches and close to 180 pounds! Now that's a big fish!!

We welcome Kevin Carney and his group who will be fishing with Redrum the next couple of days. We wish you guys the best of luck!

Hasta Manana.

July 7th, Dorado Didn't Stand a Chance

I know it's going to be a good day of fishing when Cesar calls me 10 past 8:00 o'clock telling me that he just caught a Dorado that he swears is at least 70 pounds! Cesar had 3 great days fishing with Mike Mathews and Kandee Baird. Today was probably the best day because of the massive Dorado that was caught! They were also able to catch and release a Stripe Marlin later in the afternoon.

Mr. and Mrs. Egan fished with Omar on ReelRum and although they had a pretty nice Dorado get off just a couple of feet from the boat, Mr. Egan caught a nice 65 pound Bull Dorado.

Frank Breard fished and had a great time fishing with Javier and Americo on Rum Runnin. He was able to catch a nice 100" Stripe Marlin weighing in about 140 pounds and also another huge Dorado, weighing about 55 pounds!!

It's always great to see big Dorado caught. It is a promising sign that the fishing is about get a whole lot better!

Saludos,

Luis

July 6th Fish Report

Another good day of fishing for the REDRUM anglers!!

Todays fish Report:

Reel Rum was the first boat back today probably due to the fact that Omar tired the Lafferty's out. Mr. and Mrs. Lafferty had a great day fishing with Omar and Americo, 3 very nice Dorado, a Sailfish and a Stripe Marlin. Both Billfish were released. Great job!!

Kandee Baird and Mr. Mathews had a good time fishing with Marshall and Manuel on Tantrum today. They were able to catch and release a nice Stripe Marlin and hook into a couple of nice Dorado as well. Man, its great to see the Dorado bite picking up again!

Mr. and Mrs. Scott fished on El Nuevo today with Ramon and Juan and had a fabulous time!! Mrs. Scott caught and released a 140 pound, 100" Stripe Marlin while Mr. Scott took care of the Dorado and the nice Mako Shark!!

Hopefully the fishing will keep up and we will keep tiring our anglers out!

'Til tomorrow...

4th of July Weekend Report

Happy 4th of July Weekend to all around the states! Drink a cold one for us here in Mexico although we managed to get by with a pretty good 4th of July bash.. mexican style!

It's been some time since I have posted a report. I can blame that on a couple weeks of vacation back home to Texas, got to do some Gulf Coast fishing in South Padre Island and had a blast catching Red drum, or should I say REDRUM!! As well as trout, snook, and flounder.

I must say, none of that compares to comming down to Cabo and catching Marlin! That's for sure!!

With the Port being closed yesterday due to foul weather the fishing today was pretty strong.

El Nuevo fished with the Bosma party from Texas and were able to hook into a nice Stripe Marlin. The Texas group fished with Ramon and Juan as Alex is taking his vacation with his
family.

Rum Runnin had an excellent day with Mr. Weishuhn and his 2 sons, Jacob and Ross. They were able to start the day off catching 3 nice sized Yellowfin Tuna, all over 25 pounds. They ended their day with Javier and Americo reeling in a nice Stripe Marlin. Great job guys.

Tantrum caught and released a Stripe Marlin. Ms. Kandee Baird and crew showed up a little tired from last nights events but were still able to put up an excellent fight against a nice Stripe Marlin! Great job guys.

RedBeam had a great day as well. Manuel and Manuel were able to catch and release a Stripe Marlin and boated a beautiful bull Dorado! Great job guys.

Hopefully I can start posting a report daily. Of course that is up to the anglers!! You catch the fish and I will write about it!

Saludos to all those who have served our country in the past and present and to all over seas!!
