I am ready and back to work! First off I want to say thank you to all of you who have congratulated me for my Graduation last Friday. I flew back to Mexico City to receive my Diploma for my Masters Degree in International Business Administration at Alliant International University (AIU) Came back to the office Yesterday and have been catching up on the job!
Luckily everything is ok, Ryan did a great job in my abscense...of course, he owns the place LOL!
So this is the reason why I did not post yesterday's fish report, had some catching up to do. But ok this is what happend yesterday.
We had 4 boats out 2 of them were half day trips while the other 2 were full day.
On the Panga we had Kurt Solomon, his kids Kurt and Emily and friend Evan fishing for 5 hours. Did some inshore fishing by the sea of cortez and came back with 1 Tuna and 3 Rooster fish. They decided to have their fish cooked up at Misiones de Kino. I made sure to tell the chef to do some Ceviche with the Tuna and Sushimi with the Rooster....So I hope they enjoyed their meal and hope to see these guys again real soon! Kurt fished with us last March.
On our 28' we had Lino Vitek and his crew fishing for a full day with Captain Cesar and Mate Omar. These guys had a blast out there and reeled in 2 Dorado, 1 Yellowtail Tuna and a 150Lbs Striped Marlin! awesome buddies! After their day ended they did not come back to the office, so we got all this information from our Crew. Hope to see you guys soon!
Roy Clark went fishing on his own aboard our 32' RumRunnin for 1/2 day. After a lot of hard work to find the fish, he was able to reel in 3 yellowtail. Captain Javier and mate Americo did their best to find the fish for Roy but the Marlin decided not to bite this time...Sorry Roy, maybe next time? Roy came back to the office and said he had a great time and that the guys tried very hard. We are glad to know and hear this. Thanks Roy, hope to see you soon.
And last but not least we had Javier Ranger and Marisol Gomez fishing on our 33' Nuevo along with Captain Alex and Mate Manuel. They first wanted to do a half day but in the end decided to go for a full day instead...which is always better! It's a good thing they did change their mind because who knows if they would've caught the 3 yellowfin tuna they did? They are flying out today but before they leave, they went to Misiones de Kino yesterday afternoon to get their fish fixed up for them in 6 different ways! yummy. Hope they enjoyed the meal!
Today we only have 2 boats out. I will let you know how we did later on today.
Thank for reading.

Sorry for the lapse folks....
Nick, our office manager extroidonaire, is back at home in Mexico City, accepting his diploma. We are super happy for Nick and want to send a big congratulations from everyone here at RedRum to recognize this accomplishment.
That being said, hurry back, fishing is picking up and the boats are booked.
Fishing has stayed strong the last few days and I will try to bundle a few days into one post just to save a few minutes. Roosters and Jack Crevalles, of awesome size, are still all over the inshore waters and folks are getting some great fish doing a little inshore in the morning. Offshore (which is only a few miles right now) has been busy with Wahoo and Marlin. Had a boat do a half-day today and they were back by 11:30am with 3 Roosters, a Jack Crevalle and a Marlin. Killer half-day!!!!
Let's head back to Friday and start there.
Michael and Jamie Kelly, the New Jersey brothers who fished with us 5 times over the last week had their 5th and final outing on Friday and they finished with a Marlin, just like they wanted to. We had talked about chasing Tuna, but the allure of the Marlin was too much to pass up. Michael and Jamie always fish the east coast and they don't see as many Marlin so it was nice to see them get one last Striper before they headed home. This duo has fished with us for several years now and it is nice to see the same brothers coming down here and spending this time together. We appreciate you guys supporting RedRum and look forward to seeing you next year. Good luck with the Bluefins this summer and fall guys!
Friday, we also had the 3rd and final charter for Nick Rauber and his group who were in from Louisiana. After 8 Yellowfin on day one and 8 Roosters on day two, I thought the guys were going to come back with 8 Marlin flags flying. They certainly saw 8 Marlin in the short time they spent on the water, but after having a hard time getting the fish to bite, the guys decided to leave well enough alone and they headed in after only 2.5 hours on the water. Hope to see all you guys back down here next year.
Ryan Schmidt, Jason Rosell and Kurt Ceballas joined the boys on TantRum on Friday and they had a bit better luck getting the Marlin to bite. (Say that 5 times fast.) The guys put the time in on the water and finally got one to bite, catching and releasing a nice 8.5' Marlin.
Saturday we had an awesome weather day, with a slight breeze on the Pacific in the afternoon.
Atwell Goins along with his wife Lesa, and their friends Bobby and Suzanne Rolston came to visit us from Corsicana, Texas. They are good friends with Clint, Kenneth and Barbarra Arthur from Concan, and the Arthurs were nice enough to pass our name along. Well Atwell and his crew had a wonderful day out on the water and soon enough will have an awesome mount to show for it. The fish weren't biting offshore in the morning so they went inshore and the guys got them hooked up with 3 Roosters and a Jack Crevalle. After messing around inshore they decided to see if they could find a hungry Marlin and went back offshore and were lucky enough to find a beautiful 8'6'' Striped Marlin. This was Lesa's first Marlin so she decided to commemorate the event with a trophy! Congrats to Lesa, what a great accomplishment.
Saturday we also had the first of two charters for Eddie and Bonnie Rafanan. This was the first time that Eddie and Bonnie fished with us and they are scheduled for two days with Juan and Ramon on TantRum. They couldn't get anything to bite offshore so they headed in and landed 3 Spanish Mackeral and Roosterfish. Nice little inshore day and better than a skunk flag flying.
On Sunday we had Ryan and Richard Reid along with buddies Scot Nelson and Brad Gray. The guys headed out with Javier and Americo in search of some Roosters and maybe a Marlin or Wahoo in the afternoon. They got into the Roosters early but had a hard time hooking up, they did catch and release 1 nice Rooster, but several got away. Once they headed offshore, they saw tons of Marlin, but none were hungry. To salvage the day and dinner plans, they did hook and land a nice Yellowfin to provide tacos for a few days.
On Monday, Dale and Julia Vith joined the guys on ReelRum for a half-day charter. They did a few hours inshore and few hours offshore and came back before noon after releasing several nice Roosterfish.
John and Janice Oexeman along with Dan and Diane Perkins also fished a half-day today with Omar and Americo on Rum Runnin. These guys were back by 11:30am because someone wasn't feeling 100%. That being said, they still managed to bring in 3 Roosters, 1 Jack Crevalle, and a Marlin. That is an awesome half-day!
Craig and Barbara Eirich fished today aboard El Nuevo RedRum and Alex and Manuel headed offshore and while the Marlin weren't biting early, they found the Tuna. Alex was about 12 miles off the point here in Cabo when he found a nice little school of Yellowfin. They were able to stay with the school for an hour or so and they brought in 8 nice Yellowfin Tuna.
Finally, our new Amigos, Eddie and Bonnie Rafanan were back at it today with Juan and Ramon on TantRum and they had an awesome day. They headed offshore to try to get on the Marlin bite and Juan and Ramon had them dialed in. Eddie and Bonnie each brought in the first Marlin of their lives today! They spent a total of almost 2 hours fighting some really nice sized Stripers. Congrats to you guys and hopefully we see you again before too long.

Thursday, back to non-stop action!
Today was a much better day than yesterday and everyone came back happy as clams! Another beautiful day on the water, but the Pacific did act up a bit at the end of the day.
Nick Rauber and his crew from Louisiana were aboard Nuevo today with Alex and Manuel for their first of 3 days on the water. Alex put them on a nice school of porpoise and Tuna and the guys brought in 8 nice Yellowfin. They will enjoy those filets at Missiones de Kino tonight and are having a chef come over to the "Play and Stay" Portofino condos tomorrow to cook them up a feast. Tomorrow they are going to chase Roosters in the morning.
Brothers Michael and Jamie Kelly were back at again today for their 4th of 5 days on the water. Today they decided to do a half-day and chase some Roosterfish inshore. Javier and Americo on Rum Runnin were up to the challenge and after running up to Los Arcos, they heard some reports of some fish back closer to the Lighthouse. The guys had a blast, catching 8 Roosters up to 30lbs and several Jack Crevalle's as well. Tomorrow is their last day and they will be chasing Tuna with Alex on El Nuevo.
Finally, we had Steve Kratzner with his buddies Skeets and Derek Ellis. These guys joined Ramon and Juan aboard TantRum and were set on chasing some big fish. The boys found and pitched bait to several Marlin and were able to catch and release 2 nice Stripers.

Lull in the action? Well it wasn't a total lull, just not nonstop like it has been.
Today seemed to slow down a bit as the Yellowfin schools were a bit harder to find and the Marlin just didn't want to bite. The promising sign was that the Marlin were everywhere out there. Nice warm day on the water and seas were as smooth as silk.
Michael and Melissa Treeman joined us today from Salina, Oklahoma. What better place to come than Cabo when Tornado's and driving rain are hitting! Michael and Melissa joined Ramon and Juan on TantRum and came back with 1 Striped Marlin after pitching bait to a bunch of different Marlin.
Sid Siegal, Robert Jewfest, and David Bruce all from California, fished with Anzuelo and Captain Sal today. They had a real slow day up until the 8th and final hour when they got into a little school of Yellowfin. Sal saved the day late for them as each hooked up with a Yellowfin. They had some nice fish in the 20-25lb range.
Anthony and Cherice Reyes from Las Vegas were down today and they had a great day on the water with Javier and Americo. Americo and Javier were excited because Anthony spoke perfect Spanish! Unfortunately, they didn't get a chance to show off all they have learned with our office manager, Nick, who has been giving the guys English lessons. They finished the day with 1 Marlin and 1 Dorado.

Crazy Day
Hi Guys.
Hope you are having a fantastic Monday! It started off a bit crazy here in the Morning. We had 3 scheduled boats but 2 more reservations made in the last minute, so there I am looking for partner boats at 6:00 AM, good thing we were able to find them!
This morning started off a bit warm and then all of the sudden we had winds blowing 15 mph, it got very cloudy and we even though it was going to rain, but after a few minutes, sky was back to normal, no more winds and it turned out to be one hot, sort of humid, day!
So we had a total of 5 boats out today.
Michael Kelly and his brother Jaime wen't out on the 34' Topaz Ziggy with Captain Manuel and mate Alex. After a full day out in the water they hit 1 Marlin and 1 Dorado. Don't know the actual weight and size of them but customer said it was pretty big. After they came back to the office they decided to go out for the rest of the week so You will be reading more about Mike and Jaime throuout this week's fish reports. Hopefully they will catch tons of fish to bring back home!
Another great group were the Mathis. These folks went out on our 33' Nuevo and had an awesome day out by the different spots were fish are biting (Archs, Cabeza de Ballena, Jaime Bank, Golden Gate) They ended the day with 1 striped Marlin (150 Lbs) 2 yelllowfin and 1 wahoo.
Lately we've been striking a lot of wahoo, yellowfin and Marlin. Dorado has also been part of the menu but it has been hiding a bit.
Our first share group was Lupe Navarro along with Sandy Mattingly and Ruben Davies. These nice people wen't fishin on our 28' and came back with a nice Striped Marlin! This trip had been scheduled for quite a while now and Today was the day they were finally able to go out and catch some fish!!!
On our Parter boat Edith II we had Chris Vine along with his buddy Ken. These guys showed up this morning looking for a boat and fortunately I was able to find one for them!!!
They spent 8 hours out fishing on the pacific side and came back with 2 yellowfin and 2 dorado.
Thanks guys!
And our last group was with Ty and Carmichael, Don and Lynne Pammler who fished with Captain Ramon and Juan. This was our second share group and after 8 hours of being in the ocean, these nice people were able to reel in 2 wahoo! I wasn't really sure how they decided who would keep the fish, they drew some papers and got it figured out on their own.
What I do know is that they had an awesome time!!!
Thanks for reading guys!!!

Fish Report. Have a great weekend!
How's everyone enjoying their Saturday? Cabo San Lucas is simply amazing, the weather could not be any better!!! It's a sunny hot day (not humid) very nice, almost want to get out of the office to head out to the beach!
Sorry I haven't posted the fish report these couple of days, busy has been very VERY busy, we can't complain though, by the time I want to begin with the fish report we have customers come in the office with lots of bags of fish for us to Vacuum Seal and freeze! Which of course this means that fishing in the last couple of days has been....AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
On May 13th we had 3 boats heading out by Cabeza de Ballena a.k.a Chileno Bay, most of you are probably familiar with this place as it's on the way to San Jose del Cabo, it's the Public Beach just between Tule and Las Viudas beach. Very nice place by the way.
So on May 13th and 14th we had Long time customer Joe and Karen Assenza fishing for two days on Rum Runnin. The 13th was a great day for them as they came back with 16 Yellowfin Tuna, they were out for a full day with Captain Javier and Mate Americo and they did everything, kite fishing, trolling, etc to make this trip unforgettable for the Assenzas!
The second day however wasn't the same, as they didn't have much luck out there. I guess it was becuase waves were a bit rough and of course that's never any good, right?
We will be seeing more of Joe in September and October. SO until then, see you soon buddy!
For a half day trip on the 13th Laura Aaron Raff were fishing with Captain Ramon and Mate Juan aboard our 28' Tantrum. These nice folks came back with a 180 Lbs Striped Marlin caught and released by CERRO LA PUNTA which is like 12 miles off the Marina. They were happy because the trip was very worth it! Half a day was a lucky day for these guys! Thanks and don't forget to send in some pics with that Marlin!!!
We also have William Minton and his buddies fishing with us since Thursday with Captain Alex aboard our 33' Nuevo. They are also staying at the Portofino Condos and all they've been doing since Day 1 of fishing is catch fish! on May 13th these guys reeled in 10 yellowfin and 1 Dorado at the Punta Ballena site, took some fish back but most of it was left to Vacuum Seal and Freeze. On May 14th they reeled in 11 Yellowfin as well and Today they are still out fishing so I don't know what their number is so far. I am pretty sure they will have more fish. Excellent guys!!!!! Thanks for enjoying the trip.
For a two day fishing trip and a stay at the Condo we had Family members Douglas Howerton and his kids fishing with us on the 14th and on the 15th.
On the 14th these guys reeled in only 2 Yellowfin the biggest one being 20 Lbs. 2 members of this party decided not to join their crew for a second day of fishing as the water was too rough. So the other two (Micah and John) had the task to bring back some food on day 2....and MISSION ACCOMPLISHED, these guys just came back from fishing and caught 17 yellowfin! they were out by the Golden Gate bank and evenly reeled in the fish...although 17 is a pretty hard number to even so, I am guessing one of them had an extra shot!
They leave tomorrow, glad you decided to fish with us guys and we're glad you enjoyed the trip!
We also had Eddie Machia and his crew members fish with us on the 12th and on the 14th. The Machias are Ryan's College budds so of course they had a blast! old friends getting back together to party out is always so awesome. On Day 1 they caught 12 Yellowfin Tuna about 15 Lbs each, on Day 3 they did 3 Striped Marlin (NICE!) and a beautiful 61', 70 Lbs Wahoo! Woot Woot! you know this is a big fish! they were happy to reel it in and happy they took this trip, I mean it's not like you see your friends everyday after you graduate right, and what is better than getting back together, go out fishin and actually catch something! 2 birds 1 stone! Thanks guys see you soon.

Tuna makes it to Cabo!
Nice weather here in Cabo San Lucas today but the Marina seems so lonely today though, It's a nice day out there people!!!!
We had an awesome day people! We had 4 boats out today. Tantrum, RumURnnin, Nuevo and Anzuelo and they all had a wonderful day out there. Tuna are back in business! That is what's on the menu this week or so it seems.
We had a shared party aboard out 28' Tantrum. Captain Ramon and mate Juan did a fine job fishing out by the Pacific side today. We had Steve Munnell and Dave Burgin sharing turns in reeling in those 16 yellowfin these guys caught. The biggest one was 25 Lbs. Some where smaller but they were still a lot of fun catching!
Seriously people, Tuna this week have been all up in the Pacific just waiting to be caught! Nice job Steve and Dave. Glad you decided to join the fun today.
On our 33' Nuevo we had William Salvinski, Jody Riley, Todd and Lynne Krueger and Paul Korhonen fishing for a full day out by the Pacific and these guys reeled in 19 Yellowfin!!! there was one point where they had 5 Yellowfins on the lines and only 3 guys reelign in so they couldn't let the other 2 get away. What they did was have the ladies come to the rescue!
These guys had an awesome time out there, brought back the fish to get it vacuumed sealed and frozen up. Thanks for fishing with us!
On Anzuelo, the biggest tuna caught was 110 Lbs!! surely a prize winning fish for today. The guys decided not to mount it. Barbara Costelly was the lucky angler who got to reel in this huge fish! Congratulations Barbara!!!! She came fishing with her family Bryan, Jill and Bret.
They had a great time out there. Captain Salvador did an amazing job and has been doing so for a long time now! Thanks guys.
And last but not least we had Bert Telles and his crew members fish aboard the 32' RumRunnin with Captain Javier and Mate Americo. These guys practically caught and released most of their fish. Just wanted to have some fun, but not really looking into keeping them. They caught a total of 15 Yellowfin and released 10 of them. I think they took those 5 to some restaurant to get it cooked up. I really don't know as they didn't come back to the office but Captain says they had a great time out there! Thank you guys so much for doing this =)
So Tuna are in da house, they decided to come back to give Cabo another try. Let's see how we do tomorrow! don't miss out on the 411!
Thank you all for reading.
