A beautiful sunny Sunday in Cabo with the temperature sitting at 86 degrees Fahrenheit and a light wind of 12 mph coming in from the Southeast. The scare of Tropical Storm Andres is long gone leaving us with wonderful weather with a breeze that’s keeping us all cooler.
The vibrant couple Adrienne and Kyle from Syracuse, Indiana headed out on a half day trip with Javier and Chivo aboard RumRunnin. Out to the Sea of Cortez they went in search of dinner. They had a great day on the water reeling in 4 Dorados! They took a filet for dinner, gave some to the crew and we are freezing the rest as we speak. They’ll have a nice cooler full to bring back to Indiana just in time for a 4th of July fish fry!
My husband headed out this morning with his buddy Leon Robles on El Nuevo with Alex. They weren’t as lucky as Kyle and Adrienne, but they did reel in a nice yellow tail. They were back in time to catch the US vs. Brazil soccer game with some fresh prepared yellow tail sashimi and Modelos in hand. They were even nice enough to remember the wife at the office with a plate hand delivered. Yummy, thanks to the Early Bird for lunch. (The Early Bird is the store a few doors down where many of you have probably bought beer or snacks.) They make a ridiculous sashimi that I highly recommend.
Aboard ReelRum were Michael Baseflug and Oliver Donnelly from Seattle, Washington. It was their first times on the Baja waters, and it treated them quite well. They came back with 3 Tunas and a big striped Marlin, weighing about 170 lbs., which they released. They both took turns fighting the Marlin. They’ve got a couple tuna steaks they’ll eat up fresh for dinner and the rest will be vacuum sealed for them to take back home with them. We hope to see you guys back down again! Send us the pictures of that Marlin that is a good sized striper.
Thanks for checking in, have a wonderful week.
