John and the RedRum Gang
Our two trips last week were amazing! The first day out on October 6th we headed out with our favorite, Captain Omar and ReelRum. I guess you could call it a Father/Son - Father/Daughter trip, as Amy and I were taking our Dads (Lance Hutton & Al Starich) fishing for the first time in Cabo. We were celebrating my Father-in-law's 70th birthday and we were not disappointed. Well at first we were, as we found out from the bait guys they were completely out! Only to have RumRunnin put 3 in a zip lock and toss them over to us on the way up the coast! Team work at its best! All three baits ended up catching fish! We ended the day with 9 Dorado. Omar and Americo did an excellent job and worked hard the entire day. The Birthday boy said it was one of the best birthdays he could remember.
Day two, October 8th was spent on El Nuevo, with Captain Alex. Of course Amy tried to talk John into letting Omar take us out on El Nuevo, but to no avail. Joining the original 4 from the first day were our friend Andrea Stanley (second time out with RedRum) and our new friend Jim Mussman. Once again bait was scarce, but we did get 4 on the way out. Not long after we passed the Old Lighthouse we dropped our lines in to start trolling. Even before we set all of the lines out we had a strike! We lost the first two Dorado and then things got crazy. Before the day was complete we landed 20, YES, Twenty Dorado (15 to 40 lbs)! Ten of which were boated and the others released. We did cast bait to a Sailfish and Marlin, but they were not interested. Our RedRum crew worked hard once again and a great day was had by all. Both days ended with dinner at Missiones De Kino's which we high recommend!
Thanks for another outstanding fishing adventure RedRum! We will be back!
Thank You!
