Things looking up this week?

After a promising day on the water with the Wilburns on Sunday, I for one thought we were starting the week off on a good note. Hopefully the fishing will be great this week with the warmer water that has moved closer to shore.

Greg and Deb Kelley along with their friends Verdie and Catherine Bowen, visiting all the way from Alaska were first up on Monday. Greg and Deb have been fishing with us for years, and Greg even has the hat to prove it. Greg may have the oldest RedRum hat in existence, it is a very rare specimen that was manufactured sometime around 1998. As Greg claims, "I am old-school, I don't need a new one!" Well, I tried. Anyhow, the Kelley's and Bowen's had a great day catching 10 Dorado and a Bonita that the boys cut into strips and used for the Dorado fishing. Debra thought that this was the best trip they had ever had with RedRum or anywhere else in the world for that matter. See you guys again on the 14th!

Next up was Patrick Eagan and his 7 buddies that are down for a 'Boys Trip'. With both fishing and golf on the agenda these guys have an awesome Baja vacation planned and it was our job to make sure the fishing was taken care of. Pat and the guys split into two groups and headed out on both Rum Runnin and the RedBeam. Rum Runnin caught 3 Dorado and lost half a dozen more during the fight. The RedBeam won the bragging rights between the guys with a Striped Marlin, a 140lb Mako Shark and half a dozen Dorado. Good times were had by all and I hope to see this fun group of guys again next year.

Thanks,
Ryan
