Not only are the Yellowtail all over the coastline in 40-100 feet of water, but Alex caught one today out near the Jaime Bank. That being said, fishing has been excellent the last few days and today was no exception.
Darcy Ellenson and Lyle Kvarnlov from Warroad, Minnesota are fishermen for sure, they just hadn't done so in the Pacific before. Most of their fishing takes place up north in Lake Michigan and this was a new experience for them. Fishing with Javier, Ramon and Juan aboard Rum Runnin, Lyle and Darcy stayed busy all day with a variety of inshore fish including 3 nice Yellowtail, some Sierra and some Jack Crevalle. Darcy and Lyle couldn't say enough good things about the boys on Rum Runnin' which is always great.
Doug Ottinger, Neil Haunbaugh and Chris Thompson fished with Alex and Manuel aboard El Nuevo RedRum today and they had an interesting day. Doug wanted to fish for Tuna and Marlin and Alex and Manuel searched near and far, but couldn't find a school of Yellowfin. While trolling out at Jaime Bank they did however hook a Yellowtail, on a cedar plug of all lures. Random place for a Yellowtail for sure, as Alex wasn't sure he had ever caught one so far from shore. The guys also caught a nice Bonita to finish off the day.
