Saw a lot of boats cruise back into the marina today without flags, and I figured it would be the same for our guys. Rene, our mechanic, had been in contact with the boys and they were having a tough time getting bites. That all drastically changed when Omar found a big school of fish, 17-18 miles offshore towards what we call the 1150 spot.
Craig Beal and his son Brendan were the first back today. Brendan has no problem bringing down QB's and RB's for the National Champion Florida Gators (Go TCU) but he couldn't handle the rough seas of the Sea of Cortez. The Beal's were able to bring in a Yellowfin Tuna and a nice Dorado before they had to call it quits. No worries Brendan, even Paul Bunyan size guys like yourself routinely get tamed by the seas when they are furious.
The Munoz family of Anthony, Michaela, Daniel and Brennan were back next. They fished today with Omar and Americo on ReelRum and had a phenominal day. Final tally for the Munoz clan was 6 Yellowfin Tuna and 2 Dorado.
Curt Simpson and his wife Andrea, Al Brayton, Lisa, Vincent, and Alexander Correnti fished with Marshall today on the RedBeam and they too had a great day. Thanks to a call from Omar, Marshall too found the fish (just goes to show, fishing with a fleet that has several boats can pay off big time.) This crew was all smiles as they returned with 5 Yellowfin, all caught on Cedar Plugs and 2 nice Dorado, one in the 40lb class.
Justo Morales, along with his two boys and his wife Angela were the first ones back today. They again had a tough day on the water. Tomorrow, they will be our guests on the RedBeam and Marshall has assured us they will get on the fish!
