While the storm off the coast has all but dissipated, we are still getting some winds off both the Pacific and the Sea of Cortez. While that is great for Cabo's surfers, visiting anglers had a bumpy ride today. Things should continue to calm down, as Jorge, our veteran fisherman and Cabo resident feels like today was the worst of what we'll get.
That being said, first boat back was the Haines party. Mike Haines and his wife, Mary went out with his dad, Norman, their son Regan and grandchildren Austin and Kristen. The guys had a tough time getting the fish to bite today, but they were able to bring in a nice Striped Marlin, catch and release.
Our good friend John Medlen and his sons Jr, and Shane, along with friends Kurt Groenwold and Janine Moyer were our guest aboard El Nuevo today. They too had a tough time getting fish to bite, they saw a lot of fish, but were only able to get one Jack Crevalle. We'll see this crew again Monday to give it another shot.
Alohi Rieger, Jordan Weiss, and Burley Wright were 3 of the 6 that made it today to fish with Marshall and Muneca on the RedBeam. Apparently, the other 3 guys had rougher nights than these guys and couldn't quite make it for the 9am fishing excursion they planned. The San Diego guys were able to bring in a Yellowfin and a nice Dorado today.
Justo Morales, and his two sons, Zach and Chris, our latest Play and Stay crew joined us today for their first of two days fishing. The crew hails from Houston, and are avid anglers there; they even brought their own gear. The guys fished with Omar and Americo today and caught 2 Yellowfin and one nice Dorado.
Finally, the final day for the Huffman crew was today and the rest of the anglers in Cabo will be happy to see them go. I know that sounds harsh, but these guys simply wouldn't let any of the other boats out the past three days catch any fish, they hogged them all. Once again, these guys had a great day bringing home 5 Dorado. In all honesty, Roger, Kendall, Mike and Brent were a pleasure to meet and host the past three days. They deserved all the fish they caught because they came in with a great attitude everyday and treated our crews well. Look forward to seeing you guys back in Cabo soon.
Hasta Manana,
Ryan
