Today we had some really fun people fishing with us, and I always say, when you show up with a good attitude in the morning, you are going to have a great day on the water.
Our first charter was Wilson Hunt, who was down from Houston, Texas. Wilson fished with his better half and a few friends on Pescado III on Friday, but todays charter was all about Wilson. He had Marlin on his mind and wanted to make sure they got one. Wilson fished with Juan and Ramon on TantRum and had a great day. They actually spotted several Marlin and pitched a lot of bait before finally getting one to bite. Wilson caught and released a nice 150lb class Striped Marlin and he had it to the boat in 45 minutes or so. Nice to have met you Wilson and hopefully we will see you back here soon.
Next up was Gary Romano and 4 of his good friends from California. Gary is a boat owner himself and he really wanted to spend the day learning about fishing from the guys that do it everyday. He wanted to know about knot-tying, lure placement, pitching live bait, etc. Which brings up a great point, if any of you all ever want a tutorial on what the guys are doing, they are more than happy to show you. Gary had a great time with Americo, his crew saw a ton of sea life, but just couldn't get anything to stick when they did get bites.
Finally we had Heather Beaulieu down from Kirkland, Washington. She has fished with us in the past and was all set to fish by herself during this vacation but she met 3 guys on the plane that wanted to fish as well, but just hadn't figured out with whom yet. Well, we are certainly happy that Heather told them about RedRum and I am sure they are happy they met Heather. They had a great day on the water with 5 Sierra early and 2 Striped Marlin a little later in the day.
All the fishing was done on the Pacific, past the Lighthouse at Margharita. Water temps were in the high 70's and live Caballito was used for both the Sierra and Marlin.
