Beautiful sunny skies on this Tuesday afternoon in Cabo. All of you surrounded by snow should wonder why you aren't down here for a visit!! We're waiting.
I apologize in the delay of getting the fish report out. With Diana being gone, and us in the process of interviewing for a new office manager, Ryan and I have stayed busy around the clock. And John you wonder? Well he's been working his tail off at the Trade Shows up north. So for those of you in San Mateo, Sacramento, Long Beach or Atlantic City, he'll be heading your way! Be sure to come by and say Hola!
So back to the fishing, John and Diane out on their 1st of 3 days fishing headed out with Javier on RumRunnin. They had an enjoyable day on the water as they headed to the Lighthouse in hopes of some action. They got more than the bargained for when they went about 26 miles out from the Faro and caught 10 Tuna! And don't forget the catch and released Striped Marlin they reeled in as well! We'll see you guys again tomorrow for some more action.
Mike and Tommy from Sweetwater, Texas also out on their 1st of 3 days fishing with RedRum, sailed aboard the RedBeam with Captain Cesar. The stayed along the shore on the Mar De Cortez and got 3 Dorado on some lures. Not bad for day 1 gentlemen.
Clark, James, Steve and Rick all from Montana and South Dakota (smart people to get out of that cold weather!) headed out on El Nuevo today. Just like RumRunnin they got into some Tuna as well. Right around Chivo, about 26 miles out from the Faro they reeled in 9 Tuna!
And last but not least was Albert who fished with us from the Royal Carribean on a half day aboard Tantrum. The seas weren't in his favor today as we know how fishing goes sometimes, he wasn't able to get anything to bite on his 1/2 day trip. With his fun cruise, he'll have more sailing ahead. Thanks for being a good sport about the sport of fishing Albert. Hope to see you back with RedRum!

Thursday
Thursday was a lite day, with only one boat going out. While it isn't great for business, it is necessary from time to time as the boys get a chance to fix up all the little things that like to go wrong after 8 hours on the water everyday.
Bruce and Patti Londgren and Ken and Debi Lathrop were our guests today, everyone hailing from Minnesota. Bruce and Ken told me in the morning that they wanted to catch Dorado, and weren't interested in Marlin. Captain Ramon was on it, hooking them up with 6 nice fish.
As it is a little chilly on the water in the mornings, Bruce had brought a long sleeve flannel shirt to wear first thing in the morning. Not sure if he could feel Ramon eyeing it all day or not, but by the end of the day, part of Ramon's tip was the flannel shirt with a camo pattern and white-tail deer all over it. Ramon recently found himself a new squeeze and her father is a big hunter here in southern Baja. Ramon has been joining her father every sunday at his ranch, and even shot his first deer this year. If you don't think Ramon is going to be wearing that shirt come Sunday you need your head checked, he was absolutely thrilled as he came in the office modeling it.
Bruce, that was a very nice gesture and we thank you and all our clients who are so gracious to our Captains and Mates. They appreciate your goodwill more than you know.

Wednesday Report
Today we had the Skovera clan from Wisconsin fishing with us aboard TantRum. Bruce and Katrina, as well as Carrie and Dale all had a chance on the rod and reel as Captain Ramon was able to hook them up with 5 Dorado.
Craig Colelli and Lance Goth met here in Cabo and both wanted to get you fishing but were the only ones in their party that shared the same feeling. Fortunately, they hooked up and found us and we got them out with Ulyses for a day on Grey Light. As random as that was, so was their day fishing. Craig and Lance did something that has only happened two other times in the history of our company. They caught a Pez Espada or Swordfish. While the Sword was tiny, under a 100lbs, it was a Sword nonetheless. Quite a cool accomplishment in this part of the world. Consolation for Craig and Lance was the Marlin the caught and released and a nice Grouper that they had to the side of the boat before losing.
Joe Ippolito and Erika Tsouris from New York along with Sam Johnson and Chad Pedley found each other via our share board here at RedRum Sportfishing. They all knew that they wanted to fish, just couldn't afford a boat by themselves. That being said, we hooked them up and then hooked them up again with 4 Dorado and 3 Striped Marlin, two of which were "LDR's" or Long Distance Releases. Everyone got along great, despite Joe being a Jet's fan, and obviously the fishing was great. Congrats to everyone, nice meeting you all.

Tuesday update....
Well folks, we were sad to see Diana go yesterday and she will be greatly missed, but she is leaving for a good cause and we wish her well. We feel very fortunate for the time we had with her and for all the great things she did for the company.
That being said, fishing must go on. And on it did.

After a Marlin and 12 Dorado on day 1, they followed up with a Marlin and 6 Dorado on day 2. Glad everyone got to spend some time on the rod and reel guys. Finally, our good friend Tony Guthrie formerly of Lowrance Electronics, was down with his lady Laura, their friends Dan and Kathleen Lewin and the legendery Captain Ron Hunter. Captain Alex kept everyone busy with a Dorado, a huge 200+lb Striped Marlin and 2 Sailfish.
CJ Burger did not show up to go fishing. "Food poisoning," was their excuse.
That being said, I have some ocean front property in Arizona if anyone is interested.

Diana's last fish report
SUNDAY JANUARY 10TH
Ed, Gerald, Joe, Mark, Michael and Michael went out on our 32’ RedBeam today with Captain Cesar. They fished Golden Gate on the Pacific side and caught 15 Dorado weighing in between fifteen and thirty pounds.
Donna, Kurt, Lizabeth, Andrew, April and Matthew went out on our 33’ El Nuevo with Captain Alex. They caught 14 Dorado weighing twenty pounds, fishing Los Arcos and caught and released 2 Striped Marlin at the Lighthouse weighing around a hundred and twenty five pounds.
Jim and Dave went out on our 28’ Tantrum with Captain Alex and Mate Juan. They fished Los Arcos, three miles from shore and caught 12 twenty five to thirty pound Dorado. They also fished Los Arcos and caught and released a small seventy pound Marlin.
MONDAY JANUARY 11TH
Ed, Ted, Mike, Rick, Gerald, Joe, Mark, Michael and Michael and friends went out on three boats today. Rum Runnin fished Los Arcos about a mile from shore and caught and released 3 Striped Marlin weighing between a hundred and a hundred and thirty pounds. They also caught 8 twenty five pound Dorado.
The RedBeam fished Golden Gate by the shore and caught and released 1 hundred and sixty pound Striped Marlin and a hundred and eighty pound Black Marlin. They also caught 5 fifteen pound Dorado.
El Nuevo fished the pacific side as well and caught 7 Dorado and caught and released a hundred pound Striped Marlin.
Patrick, Kirk, Matt and Kyle went out on our 28’ Tantrum with Captain Alex. They fished Los Arcos and caught 2 twenty five pound Dorado and caught and released a hundred and forty pound Striped Marlin.
Diana’s Farewell
Some of you may have heard the rumor and I’m writing to confirm it is true: today is my last day at RedRum. Being that we are a tough sport fishing company I will hold back the tears but I want to let everyone know that it has been a blast. I feel so lucky to have been part of the RedRum team since last March. There’s nothing like being happy to go to work and having fun all day long. RedRum owners John, Ryan and Brooke treated me like family and always made me feel appreciated. The Captains and Mates are great guys and always lots of fun. And of course, thank you to everyone that fished with RedRum. I will be off to begin work as an English teacher in Northern Thailand at the end of the month. It’s a beautiful country that I fell in love with years ago and I am excited to be fortunate enough to go back. Wish me luck!

Mixed Batch

Billfish and a side of Mahi-Mahi
Donna, Kurt, Lizabeth, Andrew, April and Matthew from Louisiana went out for their first of two days fishing this week on our 33’ El Nuevo with Captain Alex and Mate Americo. They caught and released two fifteen pound Dorado fishing Los Arcos and caught and released a hundred and twenty pound Striped Marlin fishing the Lighthouse on the Pacific, two to three miles from shore.
Christie and Mark from New Jersey went out on our 28’ Tantrum with Captain Ramon and Mate Juan. They fished the Pacific side and caught and released a Sailfish and a Striped Marlin.
