Brian, Chad and Mike went out for their third time this week, this time on our 32' RedBeam with Captain Marcial and Mate Fabian. Yesterday they brought in quite a few Tuna and today they fought, caught and released 2 Marlin and a Sail.
Blake and five of his friends went out on our 32' RumRunnin with Captain Javier and Mate Manuel. They strolled in a bit later than usual, about six hours later (noon), but I don't ask questions. Beer in hand we got them on the water and they caught and released a Sail.

July 16th Fish Report
Brian, Anna, Chad and Mike went out for the second time this week on our 32’ RumRunnin with Captain Javier and Mate Manuel. They came onto 10 Tuna on the sea of Cortez, a few of which they’ll be enjoying for dinner tonight.
Peter and Eileen went out on our 28’ ReelRum with Captain Omar and Mate Americo. About 15-20 miles offshore from the Cabo San Lucas Marina, Peter and Eileen caught and released 2 Marlin using a combination of live bait and lures. Both Marlins weighed between 100 and 120 pounds. Water temperature was at 81-83 degrees.
Lenus, Sharon, Lauren, Clay and Andre from Houston, Spring and Katy, Texas went out on our 33’ El Nuevo with Captain Alex and Mate Ramon. They heard about us through their local CCA chapter and purchased a Play and Stay package through which we provide accommodation and fishing. Today was day #1 for fishing and Alex got them onto 5 Tuna, a Sailfish and 3 Jacks on the Pacific side where water temperature was at 80 degrees. They used lures for the Tuna and live bait for the Sailfish. Clay has been Marlin fishing in the Bahamas but it was everyone’s first time in Cabo. When I asked him how both places
compared, Clay said of our company: “It’s the best darn fishing in Cabo.”

Wednesday update...
Tons of boats coming back today with no flags flying (non-redrum boats of course.) I won't point fingers or name names, but a lot of the boats on Dock A had a hard time finding the fish. RedRum boys however, had a good day on the water today. While it was somewhat slow out there, we got all our clients on fish. Most of the fishing was done on the Sea of Cortez a few miles out from the 95 bank.
The first boat back was the half-day share of Brad and Mike Hodge and Steve Milner and Lorna Contreras. Steve had been looking for a share for the past few weeks and we couldn't seem to find him one. As luck would have it, they shared a taxi down to the Marina from their resort with Brad and Mike who were coming down to the Marina looking to get on board with someone. Captain Tata was at the helm and as luck would have it, he hooked into the first BLUE MARLIN of the season for RedRum. Mike Powell had a 400lber last week on the Missing Lenk, however it wasn't with our clients, so we can't count that one. After 45 minutes, this bruiser of a Blue, estimated at over 200lbs snapped the line and swam away. Oh well, at least we know they are out there. Steve and Lorna were up next and they caught a nice Dorado in the 40lb class.
Wid and Joe were back for day two of their fishing trip and today they headed out with Captain Alex aboard El Nuevo RedRum. They once again didn't get into any Tuna of astonishing size, but they did bring 2 Yellowfin to the boat.
David Welch, Amado Maschmeyer, Keaton, Stratton and Smith Day, all headed out with Javier on Rum Runnin. While things were looking grim most of the day, a late Marlin strike made it all worth while. They saw a small bachelor school of 3 Stripey's on the surface and before they knew what was going on, the crew had hooked one of them. The Striped Marlin fought like hell, giving each person on the boat a chance to feel it's power. The guys estimated the fish at 160lbs.
Finally, we had Dustin Daniels and his wife with us today from North Carolina. They joined Captain Omar and Americo aboard ReelRum and brought in a Sailfish and 2 Yellowfin Tuna.

Tuesday...
Alex Trasvina, James Gaskill and his son Daniel Maldanado fished with RedBeam. Captain Marshall took them out towards the 95 and trolled rigged dead bait and cedar plugs. The cedar plugs were too much for the Tuna and they were lucky enough to bring 3 of them in.
Brian Younger from San Francisco along with his two buddies had a great day as well. Captain Javier on Rum Runnin was right there at the 95 with Captain Marshall, however he was able to hook the guys up with 6 Yellowfin.

Monday Update
Ryan Mast and his crew went out for day 2 of their Cabo adventure and once again had a great day. Following up the 3 Marlin on Sunday, the guys brought in 3 Yellowfin Tuna while fishing from the RedBeam. The guys enjoyed their catch at Misiones de Kino. Look forward to seeing you guys again soon!
Our good buddy Wid, who fished with us last year in the Western Outdoor News Tuna Jackpot, is down again and he finally got the Tuna he was looking for last November. While the 3 Yellowfin they brought in weren't the size it would take to take top honors in the tournament, they did get one nice 30+ lber. Wid also got his buddy hooked into a Striped Marlin. Great day guys.

Nick's Dorado
RedRum,
I just wanted to say we had a great time fishing on the "Rum Runnin". I'm attaching a picture of the 5' 3" 60 pound Mahi Mahi my ten year old son Nick caught. He founght the fish by himself for about 20 minutes before I gave him a little rest before fighting it again.
