Feliz Dia de Reyes!

Clear skies and the fish are finally back at it!

A fun family group from D.C. the Bursenos came and fished with Alex on El Nuevo. They weren't sure what to expect as many of them hadn't been to Cabo let alone on the Baja Waters. Off to Los Arcos they went and landed 8 Dorado. They were excited to have all their plastic bags full of their fresh catch that they're taking to get some tacos made on the beach. Hope to see you guys back down here!

A super cute friendly couple from Minnesota Megan and David were excited about getting out on the water. I wasn't sure where they were come 7 am, so I gave their hotel a call. Sure enough David answered a bit groggy and was suprised to hear it was 7 am! He soon realized they had set their alarm for pm instead of am. And here I thought it was the tequila. Any who, they had a great time with Captain Ramon on Tantrum and each reeled and released a Striped Marlin! Please send us those pics guys!

And last but not least was RumRunnin. Janice, Gerald, Ken, Melanie, Joel and David headed out with Captain Chivo and Omar filling in as mate. They had a fantastic morning getting 12 Dorado which they kept!!! The other 5 they pulled in were released, since the limit is 2 per person to keep for Dorado. They used up all their bait quickly after getting into such a mess of Dorado! Well done guys, we hope you enjoyed your day on the water and hope to see you back with RedRum.

Happy Dia De Reyes! (That is the Holiday here in Mexico on January 6th)

Hasta Luego,
Brooke

Slowly but Surely

A bit of a cloudy day here in Cabo with quite a chill this morning... well for Cabo anyways. But nothing compared to the negative temperatures I hear from clients in Canada or the Midwest. That's why you should be reading this report on a beach, not after you've shoveled your walk!

So one of the condo crews, Thomas, Gary, John, Carlie and Kenneth were back at it for day two on the water. They said even in Texas it's been chilly! Anyways, they were on El Nuevo with Captain Alex, yes, he's back from his vacation. They fished out at the Lighthouse and were able to pull in one catch and release Marlin from the surface on stitched bait.

The other group staying over at the Portofino Condos was also on their second day of fishing. Paul along with family and friends Patrick, Katherine, Belinda and Laurie were out on RumRunnin with Captain Chivo. They too fished at the Lighthouse, but found the marlin deep pitching live bait. They all took turns reeling in 2 catch and release Striped Marlin.

Our partner boat Grey Light took out Trenton from Houston. He made a last minute reservation last night and couldn't bare leaving Cabo without getting some fishing in. He was flying solo on the water after enjoying the day and night festivties that Cabo has to offer during the New Year holiday. He was stoked to catch a 98" Striped Marlin which he rleased and 1 Dorado out at the Lighthouse. On his way back in just about 2 miles from shore, the got into some Snapper, about 8 of them. Not bad for a 1/2 day!

Thanks for checking in with us. Hope everyone is having a great start to 2010!
Brooke

On a side note, the Fiesta Bowl is a sensative subject. We were sorry to see TCU loose their undefeated winning streak against Boise. The good wife that I am, stayed back along with Diana to cover for John and Ryan while they enjoyed the "Fiesta" at the Fiesta Bowl in Phoenix. Now they are off to work in Denver and Dallas. For those of you in Denver, be sure to stop by the Sportsmens Expo and say hello to John. And any Dallas Safari Club members, be sure to stop by and pay Ryan a visit. Hasta Luego.

2 boats, 8 Marlin

Jake and Kris from Idaho went out on our 32’ RumRunnin. Jake fished Cabo six years ago and described it as being more of a long boat ride. Stacie, Patrick and Tim from Arvada, Co went out on our 28’ Tantrum with Captain Ramon and Mate Juan. They fished Los Arcos, three miles from shore and caught and released 2 Striped Marlin weighing around a hundred and fifty pounds, each fight lasting close to forty minutes.

Bye to 2009 fishies and hello 2010 big ones

Eric couldn’t wake his five friends up after their long night but that didn’t mean he wasn’t going to fish. Omar took him out on our 33’ El Nuevo and they caught 4 Dorado between twenty and twenty five pounds.

Scott and Kristin from Utah went out on our 32’ RedBeam with Captain Cesar. They caught and released a Striped Marlin and caught 4 Dorado.

Jake, Zach and Michael arrived this morning on the Radiance of the Seas and spent their morning fishing with Captain Javier on our 32’ RumRunnin. They fished Los Arcos about a mile from shore and caught 4 Dorado weighing up to twenty pounds.

Lukas and mom Elke decided to fish one more time before they head back to Austria. They fished 6 days last week with Javier and today fished on our 28’ Tantrum with Ramon. They fished Los Arcos about five miles from shore and caught and released a hundred and thirty pound Striped Marlin and 2 twenty pound Dorado. Not a bad way to end the year.
