RedRum,
I just wanted to say we had a great time fishing on the "Rum Runnin". I'm attaching a picture of the 5' 3" 60 pound Mahi Mahi my ten year old son Nick caught. He founght the fish by himself for about 20 minutes before I gave him a little rest before fighting it again.
Thanks, John & Nick Bratanov

Danny Dupree and the Local Drew Crew
Danny Dupree and his crew had a great day on El Nuevo RedRum. While they didn't get into the Marlin and Sailfish that the Mast party did, they found a school of Yellowfin and were able to bring in 5 nice fish.
Local Drew Deckman was itching for a day on the water with some friends and we were happy to oblige. Drew and his crew brought in 4 schoolie size Yellowfin and a nice Striped Marlin.

Mast crew...
Ryan Mast is a good friend of Brooke's from her Peace Corps days in Guatemala. Ryan came down with some good buddies of his from Louisiana for his bachelor party and headed out with Javier on Rum Runnin today. They just got back with 3 Striped Marlin Flags and 3 Catch and Release Flags.
Still catching up...
Chris Yonko and Cathy Miller, from Hollywood, Florida are visiting Cabo and they were out looking for Marlin. Chris wanted a big Marlin so that he could have something to mount. Sure enough, after a long slow day, Omar and Americo spotted a Marlin on the surface and threw a live pitch bait. Sure enough the Marlin took the offering and Chris' battle was on. Mission Accomplished.
Gabe Corchiani is in from Louisianna and after returning early a few days ago with 3 sick boys, he headed out by himself today with Ulyses. While the fishing was much better the first day he went out and had to return early, the boys stuck it out and got him a Yellowfin late in the day. Nice meeting you Gabe.
John and Carol Bratanov headed out with their 10 year old son for a day on the water with Javier on Rum Runnin and caught a monster Dorado. While the fishing was a bit slow, they were able to hook into, and land, a 63" Dorado weighing more than 50lbs. John's 10 year old son showed some serious heart, and muscles, fighting the fish for 40 minutes and finally bringing it all the way in. Great Job!
Tony and Michelle Annan, the latest of our Play and Stay guests were out with El Nuevo RedRum today and while the Sailfish they caught was nothing like the 600+lb Blue Tony caught the week before, they had a nice day on the water.
Neil Bordelon and Chris Kastberg hooked up on our share board and headed out for a day on the water with Marshall on the RedBeam. The guys were able to bring in 1 big Striped Marlin.

Warren Wong in the house...
Warren and Annie Wong, long time clients and friends are in town from Canada for their annual pilgrimage to Cabo San Lucas. They hooked up with Gregory and Louis Johnson, also long time clients for a shared day on the water aboard Rum Runnin. Captain Javier got the group in to the action with some Yellowfin Tuna and was able to hook one for each of them.
Brian Edmondson, along with his girlfriend Denise, is yet another TCU Horned Frog that has made it down over the last few weeks. Love all the Frogs making it down to Cabo. Brian and Denise fished with Marshall on the RedBeam and had a great day. They caught a nice Amberjack, 2 Yellowfin Tuna, and 1 Striped Marlin. A second Marlin was hooked but spit the hook after a short fight. Denise, I guess we will have to wait until you guys return before you get to bring one in bigger than Brian's.
Lance Robbins, along with his buddies James Hicks, Juan Franco, Cole Barnhill, and Drew Campbell were down here from Fort Worth, Texas and they were looking for Marlin. Lance was the lucky guy who reeled in the big Striped Marlin and the guys also brought in a Yellowfin Tuna. A clerical error by the office staff (me) shorted the guys a few sandwiches on the boat so they were hungry when they got back to the Marina. We made it up to them by giving out a few fillets of Dorado to go with their Yellowfin and they enjoyed some Tacos over at Mango Cantina.
Scott Mackenzie and his wife were visiting from Dracut, Massachusetts and Scott actually works in Andover, the town I was born in. Small world. Scott brought in a Yellowfin while his wife brought in a monster 61" Dorado.

Meg's Striper
John/Ryan/Brooke,
Rich Delor promised we would send pictures of the Marlin we caught with Omar and Americo on June 30. Again, thank you for the once in a lifetime (for me anyway) experience. We truly enjoyed our time. You have a top notch crew and outfit and we look forward to our next trip to Cabo and utilizing your company.

Hot weather and cool fishing is what the day brought to our anglers on RedRum boats. The temperature is sitting at 93 degrees but feels like 102, and not too much breeze just a bit from the south at 10 mph. It’s official, the heat has arrived in Cabo, if you aren’t in air conditioning, you are sweating, or glistening if you’re a lady. The good news is, the RedRum office is on its way to get some A/C installed, and we just can’t wait.
But back to the fishing, which there was a lot of, but not too much catching being done.
The crew on ReelRum, 2 fun couples from Boston, we liked them immediately as they are huge Red Sox fans, obviously. They headed out the Pacific side in search of some marlin or something. The fish gods weren’t on their side today. They fought with a roosterfish inshore for a bit, but lost it in the end and didn’t have too much luck after that. But they did have a fun time on the water! As we say it, “A bad day fishing still beats a good day working.”
The 2nd boat out was the 4 pack of ladies from Truckee, California. They were down about 2 years ago and were ready for more! Lisa, Peggy, Dian and Heidi are nothing but a good time and smiles. They had a blast on the water and loved the crew Manuel and Chivo aboard RumRunnin. Fishing near the light house about 12 miles out they caught two Skip Jacks a.k.a Bonitas. They were content with that, dinner for 4 at Misiones de Kino tonight with sashimi on the menu!
We hope tomorrow there is more catching.
