Terrific Tuesday!

Today was just a great day, we had great groups of people come to join us for 8 hours of fishing. It was just one of those days, you feel everything is just fine! We had 4 boats out in the water today. Mostly fishing outshore and some inshore bite as well.
We had people come fishing for the first time today and after it was all over they said, and I quote: "We had a great time...it was fun" this was said by Monna who was in Tom Olhfest's party.

Tom Olhfest's group got off their cruiser, got on one of our boats, after that was over, they were gonna get on another cruiser!!! WOW...what a crazy ride! and they still made time to come join us fishin'. I met with them today at the Marina and they looked very happy to see there was someone from RedRum waiting for them when they got off their cruiser. That's the kind of personalized attention RedRum provides. We take good care of our clients, because they are the reason we are still here.

I think Tom and his friends really got to experience the whole ride, I mean they went fishing, caught 4 dorado and they even got to see Whales and Sea Lions... Monna seemed very exicted about this. You can just tell she is a very lovely woman as well as the whole group. Thanks guys for being such cool people.

Toni Willi and Dusti also came back to the office with 10 Dorado, 1 marlin and 2 Grevalle. I will keep on saying this, Dorado's are out there just waiting to see who will be the lucky one to take them home! Thanks guys, we hope you come back soon.

Another group was Don Senter and Carl Couch, as well as the rest of our buddies, they caught 7 Dorado.

During these first days of February, our customers have fished up 64 Dorado, 44 Sierra's, 25 yellofin tuna, 3 Rooster fish, 2 Jack Grevalle and 7 Striped Marlin.
I can imagine how the rest of the month will look!!! our chart just keeps getting filled with more numbers!

We are expecting some showers tomorrow, but lets keep our fingers crossed so that doesn't happen. I'll keep everybody posted on our fishing chart and on what our customers fish up from the Ocean.
Thank you all for reading our posts and keepin' us encouraged to keep on writing. I want to make it clear that if we sometimes don't post up a fish report on a specific day, make sure to check the following morning, sometimes we simply run out of time, but will work on it so all of you can find the RedRum Fish Report everyday. We don't want our customers and readers to think that the reason we don't post anything is because our customers got skunked! no no peeps! we sometimes do it the following morning,

Thank you and keep coming back for more!
Have a good night!

Things looking up this week?

After a promising day on the water with the Wilburns on Sunday, I for one thought we were starting the week off on a good note. Hopefully the fishing will be great this week with the warmer water that has moved closer to shore.

Greg and Deb Kelley along with their friends Verdie and Catherine Bowen, visiting all the way from Alaska were first up on Monday. Greg and Deb have been fishing with us for years, and Greg even has the hat to prove it. Greg may have the oldest RedRum hat in existence, it is a very rare specimen that was manufactured sometime around 1998. As Greg claims, "I am old-school, I don't need a new one!" Well, I tried. Anyhow, the Kelley's and Bowen's had a great day catching 10 Dorado and a Bonita that the boys cut into strips and used for the Dorado fishing. Debra thought that this was the best trip they had ever had with RedRum or anywhere else in the world for that matter. See you guys again on the 14th!

Next up was Patrick Eagan and his 7 buddies that are down for a 'Boys Trip'. With both fishing and golf on the agenda these guys have an awesome Baja vacation planned and it was our job to make sure the fishing was taken care of. Pat and the guys split into two groups and headed out on both Rum Runnin and the RedBeam. Rum Runnin caught 3 Dorado and lost half a dozen more during the fight. The RedBeam won the bragging rights between the guys with a Striped Marlin, a 140lb Mako Shark and half a dozen Dorado. Good times were had by all and I hope to see this fun group of guys again next year.

Thanks,
Ryan

Slow Sunday on the calendar, but the fishing was phenominal!

Bruce and Karen Wilburn, along with friends Lucy, Charles and Linda were the only charter we had going out on Sunday. It was a little windy in the morning and Captain Javier was afraid he would have a hard time getting to where the fish were. Bruce and his group were not interested in a long battle with a monster Marlin (as there were reports of some Big Blues! over near the 95.) Instead, they wanted to focus on Tuna if they could find them.

Captain Javier, with safety in mind, said he would have to make a decision once we got out on the seas as to whether or not we could get offshore and hunt for the schools of Tuna.

The swells were out there, and they were big, but nothing dangerous. Bruce and his crew were game and they headed out in search. It was close to 30 miles before they found a nice sized school which provided action for the next two hours. In total the boat had 10 Yellowfin from 20-40lbs a piece, and even a little Dorado as well.

Bruce and his crew came back a little sore and a little wet, but they had heaps of fresh Yellowfin filets and that was the most important thing.

See you next year guys,
Ryan
