September 30th Fish Report

Marlin Playground
Today was one of those days that Golden Gate is just filled with Stripe Marlin. Bait balls were boiling up all over the place as boats were running and gunning to get them hooked.
It's not hard to believe, Cesar and Tantrum lead the fleet with 4 Catch and Release Marlin as well as a few Dorado. He headed out with Cary and Jaime Parsons, this was their 2nd day fishing and had a blast with Cesar. So much that they decided they were going to fish again with him tomorrow! Just Cesar being Cesar!
Omar and Jesus had an excellent time with the Hooks party. The 3 ladies each got to catch and release a Stripe Marlin. The biggest one, probably the biggest one of the fleet was an estimated near 200 pounds! Luckily they were also able to catch some nice Dorado for a quick lunch at Soloman's Landing. Cheers!
Matt and Julie Crowl had an awesome time with Javier on Rum Runnin. They were able to land 3 Stripe Marlin. One was a single that Julie landed and the next 2 were brought up during a double hook-up! Of course Javier was able to get them into some Dorado. Matt was going to take it back to the hotel to get some "fresh California Rolls" made from his catch! Sounds good!
John Rolfes and his group headed out with Alex on El Nuevo and had a blast. Juan a.k.a "Slim" was able to hook into 3 Marlin which they were able to bring up to the boat for a quick photo session and back into the water for the relase. They will be enjoying fresh Dorado for dinner as they were able to bring in 6 nice Bulls to the boat.
Our good buddy from the Make-A-Wish Foundation Dave Pirie spent his last day on the water with us. He has fished with us for the last 4 days and was all set on catching Billfish. I must admit fishing 4 days can tire anyone down here, that's not including the nightlife!! Today they spent the better part of the morning chasing a school of Popoise around and catching Yellowfin Tuna. They were able to reel in about 6 nice ones, smallest being about 35 pounds and the biggest Dave estimated was about 45-50 pounds. By the looks of the steaks they are going to be enjoying Yellowfin for quite some time! Daves daughter caught her first yellowfin and was somehow convinced that she had to eat the heart of the fish since it was her first one! She did it! I'm sure Marshall (the captain) and her dad Dave had something to do with that. Great seeing you guys again and best of luck to you!
