The Tony Holland Wedding Party and the Genovesi's

Tony Holland is getting married this week in Cabo and he rounded up 20 folks from the wedding party to take out four boats today. I won't go into detail with all their names, but they were a fun crew and all had nice days out on the water.

RedRum was the first boat back and they had 3 Striped Marlin bites, but no hook-ups.

Pescado III was next and they too had trouble hooking fish.

Rum Runnin was the Marlin champ of the day, catching and releasing two huge Striped Marlin that Captain Javier estimated at 180 and 200lbs.

Finally, El Nuevo came back and Captain Alex and Mate Manuel got their group into the Tuna. While most of the boats at Gordo Bank were chumming sardines, trying for Yellowfin bites, Alex decided to slow troll some hoochies and they got bit right away. He mentioned the rest of the boats shooting nasty looks his way, but he wasn't concerned with that. They landed a 30lb, a 40lb and a 50lb Yellowfin, and lost one that was over 100lbs.

Finally, Joseph Genovesi and his boys Matt, Anthony and Ben joined us for a day on the water with TantRum. Matt was able to bring in his first Marlin and the guys had a great day on the water.

Boston Boy Gets His First Marlin!

Sunday was a beautiful day in Cabo, another little cold front is coming in, but that just makes the morning a little chilly, by midday we have been in the mid 70's. The water has been calm and some warmer water has moved into the Sea of Cortez, so our guys were fishing the 95,1150, and Gordo Banks.

A good friend of ours Damon Wirtanen, mentioned our Sportfishing Company to a co-worker of his, Bob Scordino and he and his family joined us for a half-day of fishing aboard TantRum. Ramon and Juan were up to the task and Bob's son got to reel in his first Striped Marlin. Always nice to have a Red Sox fan and a Father/Son team get their first Marlin. Reminds me of my Dad and I.

Joe Palandri and his boys also chose to fish a half-day today and they decided to fish inshore aboard El Nuevo RedRum. They battled the Sierra, catching 10 nice size Sierra.

James Harper and his buddies from Redding, California also fished a half-day, aboard Rum Runnin with Captain Javier. They too wanted to fish inshore, but were only able to manage 2 Sierra.

Stephen Reitz, Mike White and Garrett White were our only full day fishermen today, joining Omar and Jesus aboard RedRum. They were on the hunt for Marlin and they spotted and hooked 3 fish, just couldn't get any of them to the boat for a release.

1 Striped Marlin 160 Lbs and an Award.

We're back and better than ever!
So many things have been going on these past few days. I had to rush out of here on Saturday so I didn't have time to write up a fish report!

So first and foremost: " Huge congrats and thank you to our awesome team here at RedRum and all our friends and fans for voting RedRum Sportfishing the top Sportfishing Charter in Cabo San Lucas."

On Saturday there was an event here in Cabo for the Best of Cabo 2010 and RedRum ranked as the best fishing Charter! Thanks to all of you.

And it was because of this that I had to rush out of the office. We had so little time left before getting to the ceremony but in the end it was all worth it. This is just the beginning.

So fishing on Saturday was ok. We had John Jackson on RedRum with Omar and Americo for a half day and these guys did great. By noon they had already caught a 160 Lbs Marlin and a Skipjack. Normally chances of landing a Marlin on a half day are rare but these guys did great and were very lucky. I'm glad they decided to change their Panga Trip for a fishing experience on our 31' RedRum
John fished with his pal Michael Green.

Daniel Vicente and his crew of 11 guys fished on two of our boats RumRunnin with Javier and Nuevo with Alex. It was a slow day for both these groups. They did land a Dorado though...and Dorado's during this time of year is slow, but it was the first in this month so congrats to that team.

No major fishing here on Saturday but it sure picked up over Sunday and Monday...check our fishing report for these days in just a few more minutes!

Thanks
Nick
