Wednesday Report

Another great day on the water for the boys. Most of the guys are still heading up the Pacific, Cesar however fished the 95 today and said things looked excellent out there. I guess the proof is in the pudding, lets see how he did.

Cesar and Kilito fished with Scott Fulton and his boy Trey, as well as Scott's parents Charlie and Zara. Special shout out to Charlie and Zara who are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. As previously mentioned, Cesar headed to the 95 where he quickly got on the Dorado, hooking up 6 and catching and releasing a nice Sailfish. Not sure it is enough to pull the rest of the guys from the Pacific, but it gives everyone something to think about.

Geoff and Emily Wyonzek finished up today with their second day on the water and today they headed out in search of Tuna. Omar and Americo were all for heading out in search of Tuna and after getting about 20 miles off Cabo towards the Jaime Bank, they found the birds and the Porpoise working. Didn't take long after that, and they finished the day with 7 Yellowfina and a 50lb Sailfish.

Jeremy and Jung Yun, Will and Jung O'Donnell, Matt Hunter and Jeremy Blackburn were our guests aboard El Nuevo RedRum today and they had a great day on the water. Alex and Manuel had a great day on the water and had their clients on the fish all day long. They caught and released 3 Striped Marlin and also catching 3 Dorado, while missing a few others.

John and Nila Ventress, Ron, Ryan and Julia Bruns fished with Ziggy today and had a good day on the water. They were impressed with how hard the crew worked all day, and while they didn't get the Marlin they were looking for today, they did hook up with 3 Dorado.

Happy Turkey Day to all our friends and family from the United States! Hopefully you all have a little Dorado or Tuna in the fridge you can thaw out and enjoy tomorrow.

Tuesday Report...

Keith Carpenter and his crew joined Alex and Manuel aboard El Nuevo RedRum, our 33' Bertram. The Carpenters won the mixed bag award, bringing in 2 Striped Marlin, 2 Yellowfin Tuna and 3 Dorado. Congrats guys, see you again on Thursday, maybe you can catch a pelican aka Mexican Turkey.

Roberto Rusnack was back at again for day 2, and for the first time in 3 years Robert allowed someone else on the boat with him today. Selfish is certainly not the word to describe him, but Robert likes to catch fish and usually doesn't like to share. Congrats to him today for inviting a buddy along. They had a great day with the crew of TantRum, bringing in 3 Dorado and 1 Marlin.

Geoff and Emily Wyonzek of Memphis joined us for their first of two days on the water. Captain Omar and mate Americo were their hosts on ReelRum. They had a phenominal day one and almost won the mixed bag award. Emily got loose on the only Yellowfin of the day, while Geoff got his first Marlin. In between, they were also able to bring in 5 Dorado.

You'll have to excuse my lack of knowledge on both the Zell and Lane parties today, I was a bit under the weather and didn't get a chance to stick around and see how they did.

Monday Report...

Barrett Schott and his buddy Corey Keller joined us for a day on the water with Rum Runnin. Captain Javier was at the helm and headed back to the Los Arcos/Migrino area he was at yesterday, hoping for the same success. The guys each got to catch and release a Striped Marlin and they also caught 8 Dorado, 4 of which they released.

Angela Miller and Tracey Purdy are visiting all the way from Canada. They were the second group of two ladies fishing together in as many days. This is a trend we would love to see continue. Sportfishing isn't just for boys you know. These ladies certainly proved that bringing in 1 Marlin, 1 Yellowfin and 2 Dorado.

Steve Lane and his crew are visiting from Cape Coral, Florida and he had one thing on his mind; Marlin. Coming from Florida, these folks weren't used to the amount of Marlin we have in the area and took full advantage, catching 2 Marlin and releasing them both. These guys also caught 3 Dorado.

Our good buddy Roberto Rusnack is back at it for his annual pilgramage for Marlin. Day one=Success.

Wayne Andrew and the Pure Fishing guys finished up their fifth and final day on the water today with Alex and Manuel on El Nuevo. They hadn't quite met their quota on Striped Marlin, so today they went out and caught and released 4 more! While also bringing in 2 nice Dorado.

Things are heating up nicely,
Ryan

Sunday Report...

Jerry and Kim Smith finished up their second of two days with RedRum today once again fishing with Captain Javier. Javier headed up the Pacific coast about 17 miles to a spot on the coastline called Migrino. He got right into the action and kept the rods bent all day. 3 Striped Marlin and 4 Dorado when it was said and done.

Judi Scott and Cindy Halbgewoks both from Cambridge, Maryland joined us today aboard ReelRum. Captain Americo found the fish to be a littly picky in his neck of the woods today, but was still able to get Judi and Cindy hooked up with 2 Dorado. They took a few filets to enjoy for dinner and as per usual, we sent them over to see Israel at Misiones de Kino. Nice to have met you ladies, come back and see us.

Josh and Linea Morris of Washington and Jim and Kindle McCauley of Montana joined us aboard the RedBeam today. Captain Cesar was at the helm and he headed straight for the Golden Gate. While the fishing has been great lately, I think every Captain secretly wants to be the first to have a truly phenominal day at Golden Gate. It was this time last year that folks were catching upwards of a dozen Marlin a day at the Gate. While Sunday wasn't the day, they still did very well catching 2 Striped Marlin and 4 Dorado.

Wayne Andrew and his guests from Pure Fishing hit the Los Arcos area for their fourth day on the water. Captain Alex and his Mate Manuel have built up a pretty good working relationship with Wayne and his guests and they are all fishing great. Today they had 3 Marlin and 6 Dorado.

Another great day,
Ryan

Where you been Ryan??

OK, I will try to play catch up a bit here and get you all updated on what's been happening. I was out of the office and on the water last week, while we had the guys from "The Fishing Crew" in town. They were filming a TV show and we got some phenominal tape after having two great days on the water. On day one, my boat (which of course won the mini-tourney we had,) brought 4 different species to the boat. We had Wahoo, Dorado, Tuna and Striped Marlin. That was a first for me down here and I have had hundreds of days on the water. Pretty special. On day two, we had Professional Angler Ryan Weekly on monster fish for over 3 hours. We never got a look at it, but we are pretty sure we had a Marlin, and also pretty sure this fish was in the 700-900lb range. Ryan was a monster, fighting with all he had, but in the end, the big fish won. The amazing thing about this fish was that we were fishing a new lure from our friend Darrell at Ballyhoo Lures and the lure was hit while we were putting it out. We hadn't even finished setting it in place and getting the drag set, it literally got bit as soon as it hit the water. Amazing! Anyway, I got back to the boring stuff (the office work) on Sunday and I have been super busy and then I got hit with a little Montezuma's. That being said, and without further ado, here is the report from the last few days.
