Tuna is coming back!

October 1st was a good day. Tunas are back! that's for sure and we started off this month with 10 Tuna the biggest being 45Lbs. We also caught and released 2 Striped Marlin, biggest one being 160 Lbs and 10 Dorado the largest was 40 Lbs. So we really can't complain about yesterday's fishing.

We are nicely booked for October which is awesome, our chart looks better than ever and we're still booking charters. We're where we're supposed to be thanks to all of you who continue doing business with RedRum or send us referrals. On behalf of the entire RedRum team we THANK ALL OF YOU!

Like I mentioned in a previous fish report, we have a new law that took effect on Wednesday. The new law allows only 2 species per person are allowed to be caught and killed. This is per client, the crew doesn't count. So if there are 2 clients they can take home 4 Dorado, 4 tuna etc. No limit on how many fish can be caught and released. This doesn't mean that when you have reached your limit you are going to head back to the office. You guys will get your 8 hours or 5 hours of fishing depending on the type of charter but you'll only be catching and releasing. Please don't think it's our crew who does not want you guys to keep your fish.

This law also prohibits cleaning and filleting fish on board. Even though we had this going on for quite a while it wasn't as severe as it is today. In order to get your fish cleaned you will have to stop at the Cleaning station after your fishing trip is over. If we get caught filleting fish onboard we get our equiptment taken away and we have to pay a fine and after we pay we still don't get it back so it's something we would like for you guys to understand.

So, with that being said lets go on to the fish report for Oct. 1, 2010
We had 4 boats goiong out and they all did great. Although we had some folks who decided to bond with the toilet througout the whole trip instead of reeling in some fish but that happends sometimes...Guess Dramamine didn't work this time haha!

Ray Breer and his crew decided to go out on 2 of our boats. 31' RedRum and 32' RumRunnin. Their team split into 2 groups. This was their first day of fishing and once their 8 hours were over these folks caught a total of 9 Dorado and 6 Tuna. The biggest tuna being 45 Lbs. They are fishing again today so we'll see how good they do on day 2!

Eric Burke fished on Nuevo for a full day trip along with his family. They had an awesome time with captain Alex and mate Manuel. Their final fish caught was 4 Tuna one 20Lb Dorado and they released a Striped Marlin which was around 150-160 Lbs

Last but not least we had Doug and Rachel Selking fishing with Captain Ramon aboard the 28' Tantrum. These guys were supposed to go out fishing for a full day but decided to call it a day by 12. This doesn't mean that they didn't catch anything! Doug reeled in and released the first Striped Marlin of the month! It was 6 ft long and weighed 120 Lbs. It took him 15 mins to reel it in. He also caught the first Dorados for October. You rock Doug! I hope to see you again real soon.

Thanks for Reading.
