Tuesday's Tuesday Update...

Wow!!!! I feel bad for our vacuum packing machine right now. 3 of the boats just got back at the same time and I can't see across the Marina because of all the flags on our boats right now. Tourists are going to walk by and think we just washed all the flags and are just hanging them to dry because we couldn't possibly catch all those fish. Au Contraire!

I'll start with the slackers and you will quickly be able to see where this is going. Danny Armijo along with his son Jay, and two buddies Mike and Mike headed out with Alex and Ramon and were quick to tell me this is definitely going to be a yearly trip for them. Jay was hooked into a monster Yellowfin, over 100lbs, but unfortunately lost it. One of the Mike's had a 60lb class Yellowfin, while the other had one in the 30lb class. After they finished with the Tuna, they hooked into and landed 8 Dorado. 10 fish for the day, and they were the boat that came back with the least amount of flags flying.

Terra and Josh Richards are super nice couple from the Fort Worth area of Texas who are down here on a "business trip." Terra and Josh own a Marina on Eagle Mountain Lake and wanted to see what our Marina looked like. Terra was a trooper today, while she normally does not offshore fish because of Sea Sickness issues, Josh had a buddy back out and she decided to make a go of it. One Scopace seasickness pill later and we officially turned her into an offshore fishing JUNKY. She is already ready to squash wintertime plans of taking the kids skiing to come back to Cabo and chase the Billfish. Josh returned to the office and stated that today was his best trip ever. They finished the day with 6 Dorado and 7 Yellowfin Tuna. Terra claims to have taken some great pics and I am going to hold her to sending them down to us.

Gordon and Gordon Coble Jr. fished with us on ReelRum today with Captain Omar and Mate Americo. These guys took the cake today and caught some whoppers. The father and son combo stayed busy all day bringing in an astonishing 10 Yellowfin Tuna and 8 Dorado. Tomorrow they head back out to try and match today's phenominal fishing.

It's not often that the stars align like they did today, but it sure is fun to be around all our wonderful customers when it does. Normally, we see the Dorado bite strong and someone will come back with 6-8 on a great day. Other times, the Yellowfin are biting well and somewhen can also have a great day with 6-8 fish. As folks know, the fall and winter can be great for Marlin and we can have similar success with the Billfish. But for 2 of the 3 main species to be hitting the way they did today, magical!!!

Awesome day to be a part of RedRum and the fantastic fishery that is CABO SAN LUCAS!

Tuesday's Monday Update.

Julie Houghtling was back fishing with us again today. I thought it had only been a year, but Julie quickly informed me that it has been two years since she has been down. Julie, Nick, Lynette, Nathan and Kevin headed out with Captain Alex and Mate Ramon aboard El Nuevo Redrum. The guys headed for a temp break near the Los Arcos area that they found looking at the Terrafin.com website. They had a feeling the area was holding fish and they were right. Not 10 minutes after the guys set out the lines, they had Dorado on the line. The problem was, not 20 minutes after the first fish was in the boat, one of the guys started feeling seasick. Unfortunately, Julie had to signal Alex to head back to the Marina, cutting their time on the water short. All in all, they returned happy, had a nice time on the water, enjoyed the crew and had two nice Mahi Mahi to show for it. Hope to see you again soon Julie!

Jud Sustala and Wilson Franklin treated their crew to the to the top of the line today. Jud, Wilson and 6 others headed out aboard the 53' Viking Missing Lenk and had a phenominal day with Captain Mike Powell. Mike has been fishing a temp break north of Golden Gate the past few days and had great success there again yesterday. The guys hooked into some nice Yellowfin Tuna, had 2 Striped Marlin (one of which was apparently a hoss), and a Blue Marlin estimated between 250-300lbs. Great day guys and come back and see Missing Lenk again soon.

Allen and Andrea Scheib from Kingwood, Texas are visiting Cabo and wanted to give sportfishing a shot. I'm not sure they will be doing it again, and not because they had a bad day, but rather because they probably won't ever match how good a day they had. Captain Marshall hit the jackpot today and hooked into and landed 13 Dorado by the time it was said and done.

Finally, we had Lisa and Fred Bolton along with Skip Russo and his wife Pam who traveled down from Los Barriles on the east cape yesterday morning to fish with us. About an 1.5 hours from here Los Barriles is a beautiful little laid back town on the east cape which offers good fishing and great diving. Their morning started out slow, as they had car trouble right of the bat. Once they got here to Cabo though, it was all good. They headed out with Captain Javier and Mate Manuel aboard Rum Runnin. When they got back in the afternoon they had caught 4 Dorado and a nice 90lb Yellowfin. Hope you guys had a less eventful ride back to the East Cape and thanks for making the drive to come see us.
