Mucho Pescado

It was a full day with all of our boats out with the Roberts group. Our 28’ ReelRum captained by Omar and Americo returned with 3 Tuna that they caught nine miles offshore using lures. Water temperature was around 77 degrees. Our 32’ RedBeam captained by Marcial returned with 4 Tuna. They also used lures and were holding hands with ReelRum about nine miles offshore. They both saw lots of Marlin but none were biting. Some blame it on the full moon, some on the squid, and others on the beer. Our 33’ El Nuevo captained by Alex caught and released a Marlin and a Dorado using live bait, also not far from shore by the arch.

The Roca couple, Krista and Shaun from Florida fished with us on Tuesday and though they caught a Marlin and a Dorado were hungry for more. They did not come back disappointed. Right when Shaun was biting into his sandwich 3 Marlin hooked up and the two of them got busy. They have fished plenty in Florida as well as in Cancun and other Mexican spots but had never fought as they did in Cabo. The sea was at six to eight feet and they were feeling the “forced” tequila shots from the night before. They caught and released those three Marlin and when they hooked up to the 4 Dorado they realized these dolphins showed up with more of a fight than their big brother Marlins. This tough couple kept fighting until the Dorado finally gave up.

Another great day in Cabo San Lucas with RedRum Sportfishing!
