Tuesday June 8th

Family day at RedRum! Today, my cousin, Sean Macrae fished with us. Sean is down on vacation with his wife and a bunch of friends and they wanted to get out on the water. Sean was joined by Scott Press, Steve Press and Nick Curry as they fished with Javier and Americo on Rum Runnin'. This was Sean's first time deep-sea fishing and the boys on Rum Runnin showed them a great day on the water. They got into some Tuna on the Pacific side, near the Lighthouse, and some good size Tuna at that. They finished with 4 Tuna, 2 of which were over 50lbs and a big Dorado as well. They will have some excellent filets for dinner during the rest of their stay here in Cabo.

James Stratten was out for another Marlin hunt today and once again came up empty handed on the Marlin. They pitched bait to several fish, and even had one on for a short time before the fish spit the hook and went on her way.

Jack and Dottie Cernik are visiting from Jacksonville, Florida and being boating enthusiasts, they wanted to enjoy a day on the water here in Cabo. Good thing they are boating enthusiasts, and not fishing enthusiasts, because it turns out the fish weren't quite awake during their half-day on the water. The bite was stronger today in the afternoon and Jack and Dottie came back skunked. They said they had no complaints, as the crew worked hard on the RedBeam and they had a nice day on the water.

Monday June 7th

Richard Snell, a repeat customer of ours and his buddy Jim Silvia, down from San Jose, California joined Ramon and Juan for a day aboard TantRum. Before they even left the office in the morning, they mentioned wanting to get back out on the water for another day of fishing. I guess they had a good feeling, and they were right. They caught 8 Yellowfin and 1 Dorado. And yes, they are headed back out. After relaxing tomorrow, they are headed back out on Wednesday.

Dan Armijo and his family, down from Peralta, California, fished with us today aboard Rum Runnin with Captain Javier and Mate Americo. Everyone got to catch and fish and Dan even got to catch a Marlin! They finished the day with 5 Tuna, 1 nice Wahoo and 1 Marlin.

Kris Kartens and his crew from Bryan, Texas (Aggie country) joined us for a day aboard El Nuevo RedRum today with Captain Alex and Manuel. They had a nice day on the water catching 4 nice Yellowfin Tuna. While they pitched bait to countless Marlin, it was the late day, final cast to a tailing Marlin that finally did the trick. One thing I love about our crews is that tey love to fish! They won't pass by a Marlin that the client doesn't see just because the trip is scheduled to be over. They did what they had to do, and they got Kris and his crew a nice Catch and Release Striped Marlin.

A little behind on the blog, busy packing fish!!

Sorry to have gotten a little behind on the fish reports folks, I know you have all been anxiously awaiting the latest and greatest.

Fish are still close to the Marina with the boats fishing anywhere from a 1 to 5 miles offshore. All the Marlin, Tuna, Dorado and Wahoo are in the same area so folks are coming back with some nice mixed bags.

James Stratten and Josephine Folino from Manhatten Beach, California joined Ramon and Juan on TantRum today for a day chasing Marlin. The Tuna are biting like crazy, but James wanted to focus on Marlin. They pitched bait to 4 or 5 different Marlin but couldn't get a bite, they did however finish the day with 2 Yellowfin.

Jake Edens and Yousef Afgher treated their ladies Krisitine and Kelly to a day on the water today with Javier and Americo on Rum Runnin. (More like the ladies allowed them to have a day on the water, but whose keeping score?) This crew was down from Seattle, Washington and we sent them away with some awesome Tuna steaks for when they get tired of Salmon. They had an epic day catching their limit of Tuna, 12, a small Dorado and a 100lb catch and release Marlin.
