Thanks for the accurate forecast weather man!

Today was windy as a beast in Cabo and everywhere we looked claimed it was going to be a great day on the water. Great day if 10-12 foot swells is what you are into.

We had two boats on the water today, Rum Runnin and Pescado III. Pescado III chose to fish inshore for the majority of the day and that seemed to be the correct choice. Mike DeLuca, from Houston Texas, and his friends from Maine joined us today and had a great day on the water, albeit a little choppy. They had two Skipjack Tuna, one they claimed was almost 30 lbs, 3 Sierra and a Barracuda. The ladies were stoked on seeing Whales and Dolphins and said they had an awesome experience.

Stephen and Marie Ellison, didn't have nearly as good of a day. They chose to head offhsore in search of the Tuna the boys found the day before. As they got closer and closer to the schools of Porpoise and Yellowfin, the water got choppier and choppier until they finally had to call it quits and head back in. They have another trip scheduled for Wednesday and figured they would fish when the seas were a bit calmer. Good Call.

Sunday Tuna Slam

Sunday was a beautiful day in Cabo, slightly overcast but smooth seas and plentiful fishing. Everyone that fished today wanted to get offshore and chase some of the Yellowfin we had been hearing about.

Sam Bottoms and his buddies, Tony and Doug, down from the Denver area joined us today for their second day on the water. After fishing inshore on day one and slamming the inshore bite they were ready for some offshore fishing. They found the schools of Tuna and Porpoise, but couldn't get a bite to save their lives for some reason. Glad to have met Sam and his buddies and look forward to seeing them back down here in the near future.

Robert Deeson and his buddies and brothers, down from Houston, Texas, enjoying our Stay and Play Package, also had their second day on the water today. Captain Alex found the first school of Yellowfin about 32 miles from the Marina but wasn't getting great action with only 2 Yellowfin landed. They left that school and found another about 22 miles from the Marina where they were able to land 4 more Yellowfin. 6 Yellowfin, not a bad day!

April Bonds, a good friend of ours from here in Cabo, had her sister and a friend in town and wanted to show them a day on the water. April is notorious for getting skunked and having terrible fishing luck. We really should have just sent out her sister and buddy, and kept her back at the office. They were all over the Tuna, watching them feeding on the surface and jumping all around the boat. Total haul for the day, 1 Yellowfin Tuna.

Andy, Anne-Marie and Brett Harris, along with Dax Deschamp joined us for the first of two days on the water and they were the lucky ones today with the most fish. Fishing with Ramon and Juan on TantRum, they hauled in 8 Yellowfin and 1 huge 55" Mahi Mahi. Nice to see a Mahi caught, and a huge one at that.

Fishing for Tuna Saturday Jan. 29th.

Saturday was a great day out in the water, we had lots of success with Yellowfin Tuna this time. After a couple of weeks of being a bit slow, we can say that fishing on Saturday was GREAT!

We had Randy Shier and Bryan fish on RumRunnin with Captain Jesus and Mate Jesus (not the same person, but are father/son) for a full day trip. Their morning trip was a bit slow but once they were 20 Miles out they starting landing their first tuna. They fished by the Lighthouse and remained there until their trip was over. In the end, they had caught a total of 3 tunas.

Joe Ihelenfeld and his crew: John, Todd and Jason also fished for a full day but their luck was with Sierra (Spanish Mackerel) They fished aboard out 28' tantrum with Captain Americo and mate Juan. By the end of the day, they had landed 17 Sierras. Cool job.

And last but not least Joshua Loeske fished on Nuevo for his last trip during his Stay at Portofino Pedregal with the Stay and Play package. On this last day Josh and his crew landed 8 Yellowfin tunas. They got some back and had a great day in the water. The guys had an awesome time fishing and lodging. Hopefully they'll send their pics and vids soon!

Thanks for Reading.
