So maybe it isn’t Cesar and just his boat! Even on his day off Rene the sit-in captain for Cesar caught and released 6 Marlin with Jeremiah and his buddies from So. Cal! I’m sure Cesar tipped him off! Barney and his son headed out again, this time with Omar and caught 3 Marlin, 1 Wahoo, and a Dorado! Enjoy the fish! The Sisko Group from Chicago had a great day on Rum Runnin and El Nuevo catching 8 Dorado, 3 Tuna, and 2 Stripe Marlin between the two boats.

Cesar may have thought he was going to have it easy after his great day with Steve and the gang…. Think again buddy! He met yesterday’s quota plus 1 also bagging a nice Dorado for dinner! 7 Stripe Marlin and 1 Dorado for Steve, Katy, Rob and Trina. Trina or Katy, can’t remember which one reeled in a Stripe Marlin that was over 111 inches. The biggest one for Cesar this year! Congrats and thanks again guys. Spread the Redrum Love! Barney Schotters and his son headed out for their first of two days with Redrum. Day one ended with them catching and releasing 3 Marlin. Marty Kennedy headed out with Reel Rum and also caught and released 3 Marlin.

A special thanks goes out to Steve, Katy, Rob and Trina for making my job so easy and fun! Your group was truly a blast to work with and Cesar sends a special “gracias” as well The 2 couples booked 2 days with the “infamous Cesar” that they had heard such great things about. Under pressure Cesar was able to live up to his name. The group was able to catch and release 6 Stripe Marlin when the day was said and done! Shane Williamson and Rodney Lowe headed out with Alex and Juan and reeled in 2 Marlin and a Dorado while Reel Rum and our great friend Tom Plummer caught 6, “not 5 but 6” Dorado and 1 Marlin! Javier and Rum Runnin caught and released 2 Marlin and a Dorado while fishing with Richard Booth from Best On Cabo to end the day for Redrum.

Today was yet another great day for Marlin fishing in Cabo San Lucas. Redrum sent out 3 boats and each came back with 3 or more Marlin. El Nuevo and the Shauers hit up Golden Gate for the “Marlin Show” and ended up hooking 3 Marlin for catch and release. Rum Running and the Galens headed out in search for the big one and came back with 3 stories, each of their Marlin releases! Omar brought the most flags in at the end of the day. Hoisting 8 flags total- 4 Marlin flags and 4 Catch and Release flags- the Phillips’ crew was beat after their day out. Discovering that Tantrum was having some difficulties in the morning we made a decision to put Mr. Glenn Ansbell and his buddy, Brian Kelly on a partner boat. The 2 were not out longer that a half-day trip before they were back with literally a boat full of Tuna. 22 Tuna were caught between the 2 of them and half of that was kept for the freezer and return trip! Thanks for cooperating guys, looks like it paid off!

The catch has continued to stay solid on the Pacific Side up near Golden Gate. I have had reports from clients all month that say that have been able to spot 6 or 7 Marlin at one time. Bait balls have come inches away from the boats with Stripe Marlin chasing for a snack. It does not take long to train your eye to keep your eyes out for the Marlin and it really helps the Captain and Mates too.

November 1– 6, 2007
Thursday, November 1st:Our California buddy John Henigan came to Cabo again for some business and could not help himself from getting on a Redrum boat for a quick trip. He and some partners headed out on El Nuevo and Tantrum. Their combined catch was 7 Dorado, 3 Tuna and 1 Stripe Marlin. Doug Blair headed out for his second day, this time on Rum Runnin. Javier and Manuel took good care of him getting 3 Stripe Marlin to the boat and a nice Dorado to enjoy at dinner!

A special personal fish report from our great friend Tina Piper and her family reads:

"We had a great time fishing on the reel rum and we will recommend you to our friends. The day was sunny but a little rough , John caught 3 dorado ,and 1 marlin and Katelynn 15 years old caught a marlin both they said were about 120-130 pounds. The only thing we kept was a dorado. Our captain was Omar and 1st mate was Ramón, we had a great time fishing Redrum. Thanks"

Friday, November 2nd: We were pleased to host the WESCON group for a day out on the water on the Redrum Fleet. The group headed out, 4 on each boat. The combined catch for the day was 6 Dorado, 5 Stripe Marlin, and 1 Tuna. The leading boat was Rum Runnin with 3 Marlin and 1 Dorado. Tantrum came in close second with 2 Dorado, 1 Marlin, and 1 Tuna. It was a pleasure working with the WESCON group and we hope to see them again next year.

Saturday, November 3rd: Kevin Amos headed out for his second day during his stay in Cabo. Kevin took out Reel Rum with Omar and Jesus and ended their day with 5 Tuna, and 1 Stripe Marlin for a release. Gary Hansen used Best on Cabo to book his trip with Redrum and was glad he did. He had the time of his life with Cesar on Tantrum catching and releasing 3 beautiful Stripe Marlin. Jerod Paul went out for his second day with “red hot” Javier and Manuel. They ended their day with 4 Stripe Marlin and a Tuna. El Nuevo stayed in her slip for much needed day off to clean, shine, and get ready for the rest of the month.

Sunday, November 4th:El Nuevo headed back out after a nice tune-up and picked up right where she left off. The Martin party ended their day with a Sailfish, 2 Stripe Marlin and a Dorado. After meeting Jeff French at the Fred Hall Show in California he told us he would make his way down to Cabo. He sure did, and after his day out with Cesar he was glad he did. 2 Stripe Marlin was more than he could handle as he fished alone and had a great time.

Monday, November 5th:Wally Larson took the advice of some past clients and headed out on Tantrum with Cesar as his captain. He ended the day with 2 Stripe Marlin caught and Released. Doug Niss walked in our office wanting to go fishing. We set him up with Omar and Jesus for a day out on the water with Reel Rum. 1 Stripe Marlin and 1 nice Dorado later they were back at the dock happier than ever. The Garrison party headed out with Alex for a 2 Marlin, 1 Dorado, and 1 Tuna day, while Javier took the Carlton party and hooked them into 2 Marlin and 3 Dorado.

Tuesday, November 6th:Our long time friend from Nebraska, Tom Plummer came down to pay a little visit to Redrum. Our marina George and Tom go almost 10 years back when Tom began using Redrum as his outfitter down in Cabo. He was excited to fish on El Nuevo with Alex as he had only fished with Omar and Reel Rum in the past. They went in search for Tuna and Tuna is what they found! Tom and his gang ended their day with 9 Yellow-fin Tuna. Cesar had an excellent day out with the Longakers. The Longakers came in to fish the WON Tuna Tournament with Redrum. They prefished with Tantrum and caught 3 Stripe Marlin, 1 Wahoo, 1 Dorado, and a Tuna. Omar fished with the Galen party and got them into 3 Dorado, 1 Marlin, and 2 Tuna.
