May 30th Catch Up Report

Wow!!! It's been a while since we have had a day like today! A couple of tough weeks dealing with strong winds made fishing a little difficult. The past couple of weeks the crews have been dealing with cold water all over the place. The Pacific has been no good with water temps and water conditions not agreeable to fish, and the Sea of Cortez even cooled down as cold as 68 at the "95 spot". There were a few Marlin caught here and there, along with a some Wahoo, and some Dorado that brought some good size with them.

Some notable catches this week have been:

Zoltan and Paula Kiss catching a Wahoo and 2 nice Stripe Marlin while fishing on El Nuevo.

Edward Hribar caught a nice Stripe Marlin to celebrate his 75th birthday on El Nuevo.

Greg Huber also caught a very nice 94" Stripe Marlin while fishing on Tantrum.

Vaughn Ford and his gang having a great time on Red Beam catching and releasing a beautiful Stripe Marlin.

Todays fish Report:

Taylor Woodruff and his wife came into my office this morning just ready for anything. They were the kind of client that does not really expect much but deep inside you can tell they want to have a really good day. The didn't ask what the fishing had been like or how many fish they were guranteed to catch! While walking down to the boat Mrs. Woodruff whispered quietly to me "he really wants a Marlin you know". I looked at her and told her I would make sure the boys tried their hardest to hook him up. Hook them up they did! By 11 o'clock this morning they had caught and released a Stripe Marlin, had one get off the line, and a double hook up with both Stripes to the boat. At the end of the day they caught and released 3 Stripe Marlin and- believe it or not- Mrs. Woodruff caught a 105", 180 pound Stripe Marlin for a trophy! "It always seems to end up like that" Taylor told me, "she always gets the biggest fish"! I think Mrs. Woodruff is the one who really wanted a Marlin!!! Congrats guys! Very nice to have met you two!

Dale Gajdenski took his 2 buddies out for a day of fishing on Rum Runnin with Javier and Americo. Comming from Alberta, Canada they probably don't get a chance to catch fish like this anywhere near by. The 3 of them had an excellent time catch and release 3 Stripe Marlin, one for each of the fellas and 5 Dorado. Javier told me he was fishing down near the 95 spot and everything was wide open. "One second Marlin, the next second a Dorado, another Marlin, and big Dorado. Like that all day long Luis, it was great" Javier explained to me in a very excited voice!

We hope the fishing keeps picking up as we think that the "windy season" has come to a stop. We are beginning to see warmer water that should move in that should be able to stay in and keep warming up from now until TOURNEY TIME!!!

If anyone is interested in fishing in any of the big or small tournaments in Cabo San Lucas pleasea contact us and you too can become a part of "Team Redrum"!

Saludos,

Luis
