Sunday session...

Great day in Cabo San Lucas and an awesome day out on the water. The winds were up around 15-20 knots close to shore, but the Captains and Mates said that out at Jaime Bank where they were fishing the weather was great.

Two boats made the journey out to Jaime, while the RedBeam decided to fish a little closer to shore. Unfortunately, that was the kiss of death for RedBeam. They didn't make the run, as they were afraid the seas might be too rough out there. They stayed closer to shore and had a slow day. Cesar did get Dennis Barlett hooked up at the end of the day but the Marlin spit the hook pretty quickly after striking the dead bait (caballito.)

The Rowland crew that was down from the Houston Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association had a great day on the water to finish up their Cabo adventure. While the ladies decided to stay back and do a little shopping, the guys hammered the fish out at Jaime Bank. They got into 3 different species of fish which always makes for a killer day and even better dinner. When they got back to the Marina the guys had 4 Dorado flags, a Yellowfin Tuna flag and a Wahoo flag flying. From the looks of it, Alex and Manuel were happy to have El Nuevo back in the water after dropping the new engine in and quickly knocked the rust off the boat.

Not to be outdone were the fearsome foursome of Javier, Americo, Ray and Bob Young. This was Ray and Bob's fourth and final day on the water until they come back in November, (most likely with Brad and Steve in tow.) Well while the fishing had been slow pretty much all year, Ray and Bob's good luck and good vibes seemed to have been the best medicine for Cabo as they had four great days of fishing. I thought they were pulling my leg when they came back flying the exact same flags as the crew on El Nuevo RedRum, but they weren't. The guys on Rum Runnin' also made the run to Jaime Bank and caught 4 Dorado, a Yellowfin, and a nice Wahoo.

Two out of three boats with 3 different species.... YEAH!!! Finally!!!
